Davin, I'm sorry. I don't quite understand your post. Would you explain a bit?

AN idiotic. Argh!
I've said it to friends a few times over the last few weeks: I'm getting increasingly angry at all the time he's stolen. It was bad enough in the 1st term, but in the 2nd, I feel like he's hijacked my entire life. Sure, you could turn everything off & ignore him, but he's a Hitler-level threat. 1/2
I would love to go through a day without seeing or hearing "Trump says" or variation "Trump threatens".
A idiotic separatist crowd flying AB flags sets up across from Chinook Mall. I've never seen anyone else there, nor have I heard honking.
I don't know what IDF's "orders and value(s)" involve, but I think it might be translated as "whatever you do, make every effort to do it under cover."

It always strikes me as aspirational, in the sense of "what awful thoughts and views do you hold that you need us to confirm as normal and rational?".
Never mind doom scrolling, this effort is aimed at dumb scrolling.
Wouldn’t you be tempted to dump a greasy shake all over his windshield? 🤔
I am so sorry to hear this.
Canadian doctors obeying a U.S. executive order that doesn’t even apply to Canada is deeply offensive to both trans people and to Canadian legal sovereignty.
Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
Trump has targeted a country that has no power to resist.
If anyone thinks that he isn't willing to do this to Canada, it's time to wake up.
The face of pure fucking evil.
3/ If it's a white person, we certainly learn about their vocation (decorator, stager, engineer, termite specialist...). Everyone plays a part in the final product but only some are acknowledged. What are the economics involved? Is it a profession versus trade thing? I don't know, but it bugs me.
2/ They are clearly skilled. The program hosts (purportedly) save old structures, generate profit, indirectly act as tourism generators. What irks me is that the workers never get any billing/credit. How they factor in to the process is not mentioned. I have rarely, if ever, heard their names. /3
I like to watch some renovation programs. Historical content, structure, and construction interest me. Pretentious doesn't. Galveston, Nashville, etc. In the background I see workers of the kind that Donald Trump would like to throw into an ICE facility or sardine on to a deportation flight. /2
There are better documentaries about Canada on PBS Spokane than on CBC. PBS Spokane is supported by a lot of viewers in the west of Canada, so they know who their customers are.
If only the CBC was that good...
Intermittently snowing in Toronto so thought I'd turn on the golf from South Carolina to remind me of the nice weather. Immediately heard the belligerent idiots chanting "U-S-A!!!", which instead reminded me of why the world is in the state it is.
Agreed. Drunken menace is an apt description.
The Knowledge Network is airing a documentary about the late and wonderful BC artist, EJ Hughes. You can watch this by registering an account with Knowledge, donating if you wish. Here's the link: www.knowledge.ca/watch/5e8996...
Child: I know your name. Mamdani.
Obama: What’s his first name?
Child: Mayor.
An old B-school analytical framework is SWOT (maybe out of date now?). Anyway, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. US over-reliance represents a weakness for Canada, also an existential threat. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWOT_an...
Same at the Ryder Cup, though there is some excuse there.
I have always thought that people who express this view are excusing several things about themselves: a) how easy they've had it via inheritance/family wealth; b) that they've been accused of being less than energetic; c) their zero-sum thinking (others must fail/have less in order for me to win).
The Conservatives are in defence mode - trying to hold on to their Maple MAGA redoubt. This is not a big-tent posture. What does she expect? They’ve nurtured that base and driven off former Progressive Conservatives. They have no ground on which to pitch more tent-poles. Loyalty territory…

Every day is a new round of chaos in Alberta politics: daveberta.substack.com/p/back-to-th...
Chantal Hébert: I fail to see how someone who was rejected for PM called Andrew Scheer should be the regular points person for the Conservative Party.
Bruce Anderson: It's the single worst choice that Pierre Poilievre makes every day is to have Andrew Scheer out there.

Exactly.
