Yeah, living in a historic place is wonderful! I also check it out now and then, it's always amazing to see how different it looks depending on the light and time of day!

Extremely excited because over Christmas they finally removed the last scaffolding inside our beautiful gothic church. It's the first time in 8 years you can see the entire thing uninhibited, renovatting all the windows really took quite a while!
I honestly love waffle house, it's very charming and a perfect place to get a full american breakfast :D
It really has been wonderful, it feels like those two weeks have gone by in a blink!
And thank you!
Saw lots of fun arts and craft at the festival and on the way back home we saw THE BIG CHICKEN, a local landmark (it actually moved!). We ended the day with a fire and some marshmallow/s'mores, a perfect end for our vacation!
Some pics from our last day here! Had breakfast at Waffle House and went to an apple festival (we got to ride on a school bus to get there from the parking lot!) The apple dumplings there were sooooo tasty🥰
Omg, I can definitely see that happening 😂
On the way back we also made a stop at Buc-ee's which is basically a a mix of giant gas station, retail store and food court. It's so hard to describe, like I have never seen this much merch of a random company's mascot. Very fun though, definitely wanna visit that again.
There was also an area in the park called fairytale cavern, but since it is the spooky season, the displays were a bit redecorated...I almost lost it at all those random skeletons 😂
Afterwards we went t o a place called Rock City on the same mountain, which had some really amazing rock formation to walk through and look at (plus some amazing views from up there, too!)
Yesterday we did another bigger daytrip to Tennessee where we visited a really cool cave in a mountain with an underground waterfall!
We went for lunch and some boba tea around this cute little town square on the way back! There were lots of fun little scarecrow displays with a rather..."interesting" pumpkin...
I also loved the special exhibition about the South Korean artist Kim Chong Hak, his use of colour and the way he depicts the seasons is simply wonderful 💕
There qere also several of these face jugs which apparently are a thing in the South here?!?
We visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta today, lots of good and inspiring stuff there (but now I wanna draw myselg again so bad!)
Yesterday we visited a place called Stone Mountain, basically a gigantic rocl made of granite that you can get up to with a cablecar. It has a huge carving of some confederate leaders on its side (boooo), but the views from the top are amazing (yay!).You even can see Atlanta in the distance!
On the way back we also stopped in a small town which was basically a Bavarian themed tourist trip (thwy were celebrating Oktoberfest atm). Very odd but quite charming!
I could have spent hours just looking at it
We qent up into the Appalachian Mountains yesterday and visited an incredibly beautiful waterfall!
Pretty good! Although I will say for my own health, I am glad we don't have that much deep fried stuff at our beer festivals and fairs 😂
Also a guy juggling chainsaws??? Wild.
There were also so many cute goats and other absolutely adorable animal friends 🥺 (also Bav goat!)
We're in Georgia now and went down to the Georgia Stafe Fair! I got to try a corndog, a deep fried snickers bar and some funnel cake - truly as American as it gets.
That said, I also just love taking pics of all the funky little dogs and other creatures in the paintings 🤭
There was sooooooooo much incredible art, I could fill an entire thread just withthose pics, so here are some of my fave paintings by Raphael, Antonis Mor, Monet and Albert Bierstadt.
The thing we spent the most time in however was the National Art Gallery and let me tell you, the building on its own is already a piece of art. Absolutely beautiful with so many plants and fountains on the inside!
Our last full day in D.C.! We started at the Jefferson Moniment and met a white squirrel at the National Mall!
That would have been lovely, I miss hanging out with you guys! But no worries, I'm sure we'll make it to NYC eventually again!
But yeah, excellent museum, 10/10 would absolutely recommend
