Seeing the digital proof for the back of our @starsandsabers.bsky.social anthology, Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers, really strikes home how INCREDIBLE the lineup is for our 29 authors. WOW! We hit the jackpot.

Beautiful!

I started being regularly published when I was 25. I didn't make my first dollar writing until I was 30. I didn't sell my first novel or screenplay until I was 35. Many of you hadn't even heard of anything I'd written until I was over 40.

You have time. There is no expiration date on writers.

A copy of the collection THE SHADOW GALAXY by J. Dianne Dotson (Jendia Gammon) with a 5 star review that says: I loved every moment in this book. The writing made me feel like I was in the stories. The stories were magical and the poetry divine. I only wish I had more books from this author. Well worth a read.

This review made me smile. Sometimes this gig really pays off. 🤩🥹🥰
Also: I’ve got 8 more books in the pipeline so far. I hope my readers love them too!
There are many stories in THE SHADOW GALAXY to transport you.

It’s interesting to me how iconic this pose is for science fiction (book covers particularly). An astronaut facing away from the viewer and looking at something.
Nobody did it better than Moebius.

The cover of Atacama by Jendia Gammon with a review quote from author D.K. Stone that reads:

"Gripping and fast paced, Jendia Gammon's ATACAMA blends the horror elements of THE THING with the nightmarish complexity of Stephen King's THE OUTSIDER. Sharp prose, flawed characters, and a complex plot will appeal to horror and thriller readers alike. Highly recommended!"
—D.K. Stone, author of the Edge of Wild trilogy, and Inescapable: A Ghost Story

I was not wrong. She also got my medical/surgical history wrong despite it being right there on the computer.

Sigh. We’ll see.

My previous therapist was chronically late.

I suspect the new one will be too. 😑

My concern/fear is that at some point publishers will start doing this without notifying authors at all.

It used to be my laptop, till I discovered the Word and Excel apps for iOS.

I still use my laptop for specific tasks, though.

This week: format two books for printing, do cover layout for one, edit another one (and see my therapist and take my mother to one of her doctors).

I can get that all done by Friday, right? Right. Sleep is for the weak.
