This is also my EXTREME frustration with the RFK Jr wellness set. Sure, tell people that the only way to be "healthy" is to eat a steak every day and beans are the devil. Not only will you never poop, but if you don't come from generational wealth, you can't afford to eat that.
Shelf-stable foods are going to be the best option for stretching your budget. Not only are canned/dried foods cheaper, but they last for years and you can stock up without the worry of them going bad before they're used.
Beans, rice, pasta, canned veg, canned meat will get you through hell.
Yes, I've been watching/complaining about the increase in Spam prices, but it's still not comparable to the inflation of fresh meat, especially beef.
I'm joking, but not really. As the economy gets worse (and I fear that we're in for a doozy), we're going to find that fresh food, especially meat, is going to become more and more of a luxury.
