Trump administration fires DOJ officials who worked on criminal investigations of the president — NBC News The Justice Department employees had been involved in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation that led to Trump's classified documents and Jan. 6 cases.

Trump is not “investigating the investigators.” He is firing career prosecutors who worked on his case, in violation of civil service laws. I’ll discuss with @AriMelber at 6:15 pm ET on @MSNBC.
