He's as pro union as any candidate, and more than some. This seems unlikely, but it actually fits

I just suspect that, for hispanics and asians in particular that their growing share of the population means disproportionately more younger voters, who are less likely to vote.

I'd like to see this by age.

The 2024 election had the largest Black-White turnout gap in more than three decades. It's a crisis, my friends.

I remember this article. I appreciated. I still contend the Koch network's focus on deinstuitionalizing the GOP in the states, from term limits, to the RINO hunts, to the rise of ALEC and SPN as alternative communications and policy shops made the party brittle and open to a bust out.

Its actually gotten much better in the 30 yrs I've been observing/critiquing.

I feel like I can remember a time when DeGraw, as opposed to Lincoln Place, being counted as in the Slope was a contested idea.

He had the business cycle on his side. It took a long time to recover from the great recession, and he came in at a good moment.

Can't anybody here......

USPS pensions are, I think, required to be funded to meet 75 yrs worth of future obligations, meaning this harms pensions of eight graders or somesuch. Resetting the obligation to simply meeting the incurred obligations for actual workers is actually good. But doing it this way is weird.

I went to the touring production of the Wiz this week, so I saw this and was like "Why can't you be like the Queen of Motown?" And then I was like "oh...my goodness"

I think that rooting Killmonger's journey in childhood trauma helped make it relatable and made him sympathetic. It just didn't make him less wrong

He's as pro union as any candidate for office in the nation. A class traitor in the best sense.

I think he's just being Pittsburgh coded. I know all the focus here is on '28, but he does have a '26 PA election. Krugman's work on economic geography should have a political codecil about steel towns, etc.

I have plenty of disagreements with Gov. Shapiro, but I do like when he's advocating for steelworkers.

I hear you. I saw a Tesla yesterday w/ a bumper sticker about how owner bought it before Elon went crazy. The blitheness actually made me angrier than a Tesla w/no acknowledgment of the damages or harms. Could have said "before I found out Elon was a white supremist" and I would have been forgiving

He was the convener of the Tea Party, a reaction to federal action to stem the bleeding from the great recession. He's as responsible as anyone for the underpowered nature of that response and the resulting suffering.

Aided by institutional changes, starting with Taft Hartley, up and through this year's change to the rules for public sector organizing in Florida. Its only in the last decade or so that the Democrats have been able to articulate a systematic pro union view.

I think the decision by a bunch of Democratic folks to cede support for the labor movement in the '80s to show they weren't that kind of Democrat provides some evidence.

They prompted me to post when they labelled my senator genocidal for taking J street support. The tracker isn't about opposing genocide really, its about setting the terms of what counts as opposition to genocide.

Most woke ideas? Today's is revamp corporate governance so everyone can vote their shares. Maintain unions' traditional role here & allow folks w/401ks or pension funds not governed by workers to designate a proxy organization, set rules governing those orgs. I'd sign up w/the AFL's or the Nun's...
