Excellent suggestion
The ASA has long advised that exclusivity agreements limit opportunities for creators to promote their work or generate additional income.
If literary event organisers impose exclusivity in their event agreements, then the fee offered should compensate creators in full for the lost opportunities.

Lawyer Nick Hanna and the Palestine Action Group celebrating outside court today
NSW's fascistic anti-protest laws, enacted after Bondi and to allow Isaac Herzog, a war criminal, to tour without opposition, have been defeated in court today. The Appeals court found the laws "impermissibly burden" implied constitutional rights. From the river to the sea.

Tortured. Detained without charge. Now facing execution.
This is not distant. This is happening now.
Show up.
Be counted.
Silence enables this violence. Action starts with you.

All very cool and normal. Not
Just rewatched Jesus Christ Superstar (1973). Have watched it 20+ times but its been a long while since I last did. This is the first time I didn't sing a long. Hard not to hold in my thoughts what's happening in current times
Another Easter Saturday tradition is popping down to the supermarket. Because you don't think the six loaves of bread you bought on Thursday will last you until Tuesday. And you ate the kids' easter eggs last night
Today was sketching and cutting. Tomorrow will be inking and printing.
I'm still extremely amateurish at this, and am bad at drawing. Also did more research on past protest/resistance art movements that used linoprinting
Oh, lovely. Smashy smash is also good (mosaics) but a bit hard on my hands
I was watching lino & wood cutting videos on Insta, instead. So soothing. Probably the most soothing thing that involves sharp instruments
The odds were that it would be enraging or underwhelming. I didn't tune in but appears underwhelming won.
Thanks. Copyedits next. Which are never as gruelling as structurals. Are you working on your next book?
Welcome to the 60s Club, Prof Sandy. Happy Birthday and happy Transgender Day of Visibility. Double cake day! 🎂🧁
Just so you know, any time you post anything online that includes the phrase "From the river to the sea" or "Globalise the intifada", you may be committing a criminal offence in Queensland. There are "reasonable excuse" defences (ours is that we're doing this for a "genuine legal purpose").
Honestly regardless of the crimes someone's accused of, the police should not be able to shoot them dead and then say stuff like "it's a good day" out in public. I mean, look at what his son is saying. It's hard not to have empathy for him here. I think we can ask more of our police force.
Have fun!
So addictive and soothing
Sounds perfect. All weddings need (free) birds. Congrats
Nunga was offensive in 1995? (It's the equivalent to Murri, Koorie, Noongar).
My current Can't Sleep obsession is watching linocut roll ink + press + reveal videos on insta. So soothing.
Once I'm done with the structural edit on my next novel, totally getting back into cutting more blocks to print.
Until then... I've got my insomnia obsession
Anyway.... back to pre-publishing structural edits. Deadline is this Monday
It doesn't need to be this hard 🫠
Only reason I've a publisher for my work selected for a 2025 Black & Write Fellowship is because QLD gov cancelled my award = a spotlight on my manuscript. I missed out on $15,000 award but my book will still be published. Despite ill-intent lobbyists now demanding cancellation of my book contract
This is the definition of criminalising a section of society
