I’m glad that LLMs have some valid uses. Don’t blame people for fucking hating it or compare us to antivaxxers. That shit legitimately is one of the worst things that I’ve seen happen to the world, and I am old.

It takes so long to verify whether any fact or video you see on the internet is real. Couple this with the fact that the global explosion of fascism has made it impossible to trust even the sources that used to be reliable, and it is extremely easy for governments to push any narrative they want.

I’m not even talking about how it has fucked all of us up in our niche jobs: how it scraped artists’ work, is making it harder to make a living, and devalued the entire concept of art, for example. I’m talking about how it makes it impossible to know what is real anymore.

The average person doesn’t give a fuck if AI has some niche use where it actually excels if used properly. In fact, that is what a tool is *supposed* to do and none of us will have a problem if it is used like that. What we see is AI fucking up real life in a massive way.
