Is… is it not pronounced Atilee-ay?

Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.
This is intense.
I’m reading Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky’s at 3 am. Took a break to doom scroll, and your photo is in my feed. It looks like
something I was just reading.
Also, I like it.
She named him after reading To Kill A Mockingbird.
This is my daughter’s cat, Scout. I have nicknamed him Perturbo. Turbo, for short. He is hell on paws.
I just typed c-o-w-a-r-d-e-s-s, and then had a whole patriarchy and influence on the language moment.
Cowardice. It’s spelled cowardice.
That cowardice is what makes them Super.
My local Teacher’s Union won a one year extension on their CBA and were told to “go fuck yourself” by the presiding official. Any major news outlets want to run with this?

I’m thinking I had better cut down my summer reading list.
My list:
Don Quixote.
Hopscotch by Julio Cortázar.
That’s it. That’s the list and it’s a lot.
JD Vance calling it and packing it in after 21 hours of negotiation with Iran should surprise no one. The man didn’t need to say anything, and yet here we are.
I’d like to read that one! Let me know when it’s ready?
I picked up the world’s coolest “sand” filled dice! They are my new go-to.
These are really cool. 11 year old
me would be so psyched to see one.
48 year old me really wants to kick one over.
Freya Mavor in The Lady In The Car With The Glasses And The Gun.
Now I’m on a kick where I post film shots I want on my walls.
Marylin Monroe being all hot.
This one my wife would never let me hang in the living room.
The coolest opening shot of any movie… ever.
My wife’s favorite Christmas movie.
Do you do commissions!
This metal will be available in pawn shops starting 2029.
Someone who claims to have hung with the Trumps for 20 years is probably not going to be a shining example of intellect and morality. It sounds like maybe she was within their sphere but not their circle. Let’s hear what she has to say, but I’m not hoping for much.
Here’s another unexpected story that I’m enjoying. You’ll have to create a log in, but it’s free and worth it.
I for one had forgotten who actually killed Dracula.

My daughter showed this story to me. I’m not finished reading it, but I’m going to go ahead and share it for sci fi readers, especially my fellow Murderbot fans. The fact that it comes from an unlikely source makes it a more remarkable find.

People who invest heavily in strangers and/or victim blaming are so weird to me. In my mind, the whole thing amounts to “this dude I’ll never meet has poor impulse control. Maybe he shouldn’t be a leader.”
This made me laugh, but at the same time I’d like money with animals on it.
“Here come the pain!”
Current horror story level: Opening the peanut butter I bought last week and discovering I accidentally bought chunky.
Well, any future plans that I may or may not have had to become the subject of a global, multi-agency manhunt have gone straight out the window!

Thanks!
