I'll probably agree but let me get my ride on it in 3 weeks

Oh yeah, taken on its own terms, Dragons was a killer pair of coasters at its peak. But, at least for me, the grandiosity and promise of the queue never squared with the complete lack of theming or place on the actual ride.

The land itself is/was always gorgeous, but literally none of the attractions fully lived up to their potential. And yeah, Sinbad was outright bad! Poseidon was only tolerable when you accepted the outrageous camp!

I'm going to the Tokyo Disney resort (and Japan proper) for our honeymoon in a few weeks. I've dreamed of going since I was ten. It still doesn't feel real.

I can't last more than five minutes on Threads at any given moment.

That whole corporate thriller slate is super compelling. Moved this up my list!

obviously not what are you talking about

A kind old woman in my building told me that "there's a music to the way your walk sounds."

I guess I'll be thinking about that for the rest of the day.

This investment in myself paid off almost immediately, by the way. Was able to quickly resume watching AGENT CODY BANKS when my wife wanted to switch rooms.

(Pretty entertaining movie - much cleverer than it appears!)

Finally made a hard but necessary life move I’ve been putting off for a long time: creating a Tubi account

I am still genuinely so confused by the Haunted Mansion extended queue, and I have no idea why it hasn't drawn ire from more corners of the theme park blogosphere. If that thing debuted even a decade ago, I feel like the reaction would be incessantly (and justifiably) incendiary.

Additionally, literal Oscar winner Troy Kotsur (from CODA) plays a supporting role here, which I feel like the marketing had no interest in even mentioning.

(Is anyone going to see PRIMATE because an Oscar winner is in it? Probably not, but still. He's earned his name on the top of the poster.)

A movie poster for the film PRIMATE. An ominous ape peers through filtered glass.

PRIMATE rips (off faces) -- a lean, old school, meat-and-potatoes creature feature done right.

Director Johannes Roberts is also behind 47 METERS DOWN and its criminally underrated/unhinged UNCAGED sequel. In a just world, he should be given the $$ to make any "nature gone wild" flick he wants.

I think it's a good idea for kids to be taught how to write by hand, even and especially in a digital age

Curious to hear Puck’s take.

They aren't even attempting to do anything new with the production design!

It's been exhausting to see an endless supply of breathless articles and takes declaring AI slop video the future of narrative film. Countless grifting ghouls gleefully telling filmmakers they were out of a job... never mind the mountain of evidence to the contrary.

Let Sora rot.

There needs to be a phrase for this (as it's more specific and arguably insidious than general enshittification). An unjustifiable, unexplained, or outright mystery fee so small in the scheme of things that the debtor assumes/hopes you won't jump through labyrinthine hoops required to dispute it.

I need people to understand that "it's not this - it's THAT" messaging screams AI slop writing. It's arguably the biggest tell.

More importantly, it makes me completely disengage at best and think less of the writer (?) at worst.

Completely missing right now. Black curtain, audio turned off, peek behind as we passed reveal no figure present.

I understand the design choices behind the multistory layout in Florida, but I’ve come to appreciate Hollywood’s more compact configuration. It’s significantly easier to navigate, and the steps that do exist feel more natural.

We didn’t spend much time in Super Nintendo World, but it’s in substantially better condition than Florida’s despite being two years older. I didn’t observe any static figures or any scenic blights. The land was humming.

Visited Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time in a few months yesterday.

Crowds were healthy but manageable.

Animatronics were in great shape across the board. It looked like the critters on SECRET LIFE OF PETS received a tune-up recently.

The final Indominus Rex was missing, however.

What's even funnier is that suit costs exponentially more than the upper end of that knee-jerk estimate
