Screenshot of article: "The remains of their buildings, steles, clay tables, cylinder seals, paintings, ceramics and metalwork of bronze and iron witness a moving history – and sometimes contain" shapes and symbols that resemble entoptic phenomena. Could parts of the Mesopotamian cultures be influenced by entoptics like shining structure floaters?

1 kinda mid language experience -> my brain: "there's no way this language is real. it must be completely made up and everyone is secretly speaking gibberish as a giant prank"

have u ever tried to learn a language, feel like it's going kind of well, and then listen to a random piece of content in your target language that is almost 100% incomprehensible to you and subsequently wanna explode

i should probably just take more risks and be a cooler person . End of story 👍👍👍

i will fully also admit to being a p risk averse person! i just hate the kind of affective environment that is made up of more and more other highly risk averse people - it's even harder for a person to be open and spontaneous when everyone else is closed / fearful / anxious by default

i do think that his causal explanation (helicopter parenting / "our toxic culture") being to blame for this is stupid / would be much better with a left/more structural analysis, but this is a genuinely interesting phenomenon
