Using Doom Emacs is like wanting vim to be an OS but refusing to actually commit to it

Programming language matters sometimes in some cases just as the style of speech matters in deliberate cases on certain situations

"writing code to solve a problem" used to have "understanding the problem" as a prerequisite. but vibecoding allows solution-shaped objects to be produced without any of the hard-won understanding. beware of solution-shaped objects.

I'm personally fine with throwing it all away and starting from zero but I'm questioning how much of it will I be rewriting character by character. Like am I actually gonna write it better or will I dig the exact same hole?

You know that point in personal project where you notice half the code needs a rework and you're unsure if you should throw it all away or just try to patch the part that needs a rework...

I wonder how many of my small inconsequential problems are problems that others have experienced, and if so, how differently have they solved them if they did

Your chat pisses me off sometimes, you need to upgrade their LLM context size

Wrote a simple allocator for the first time (that isn't just a bump allocator) and I'm kinda surprised how simple it is to write one. While I didn't write anything that's like actually good, it's functional enough to please me and it was a cool experience to think through the problem.

GitHub - jmnuf/qleei-lang: A simple stack based language A simple stack based language. Contribute to jmnuf/qleei-lang development by creating an account on GitHub.

I am putting my language eiba-fu (temp name) on pause only to work on another language that has its goal be parsing as little as possible so there's no AST.
I am both enjoying and disliking the process XD

If tech cared about whether it should rather than the it could, I think tech would be very different. Just a thought

I created just yesterday a small app to keep track of what was the last manga chapter I was in with a url to where I was reading it. I read in different sites at times and they have failed me or I have failed to organize properly to keep track of them but it's a multiple sources of truth problem tbf

I really need to stop programming small applications for a random use case that could be covered by just being organized or an existing solution that I can afford

A programming language that can target 2+ languages at the same time with customizable bridging between. Nothing to showcase yet but it do be my main current project

I am writing a programming language for fun, despite being told that I shouldn't.
I'm also doing it without even looking up on how to write a transpiler and a slightly complex type system but I'm sure it'll be fine and not so frustrating that I end up banging my head against the wall literally

If I requested some drift/melodic phonk recommendations, would you have a favorite one to share?
I'm trying to check out the phonk space a bit...

If I said that I want a resource to read about how type systems are implemented under the hood, what could you recommend me?
