Because "boys will be boys," and we can't be too hard on their tender egos.

My sympathies to the officers whose careers are being hijacked to run Project POTUS Ego Stroke.

I remember my grandfather talking about surviving the fighting in World War I only to wake up in an army hospital in France not knowing how he'd gotten there, because the influenza pandemic had caught him and left him delirious. Glad that only the "best people" are leading us.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

Democrat leadership -- masters of the circular firing squad. You have one job to complete by June: Make certain that at least one electable Democrat survives the primary. Do it. (Please.)

"Senator, accidentally honest statements I may have made as a member of Congress are very different from those I would make as a brown-nosing lackey of Heavenly Father Trump. . . ."

Personally, I found it sometimes *more* useful to include the "saids" in the audio -- if the narrator isn't clearly switching voices from one character to the other, the missing cue of a visible line break in written text can occasionally make it a bit confusing as to who is talking.

It's almost like religious hypocrisy is common among politicians. Shocking.

Rubio is no doubt jumping for joy that this inevitable "diplomatic" fiasco/albatross will end up being hung around Vance's neck.

If we in the U.S. don't want a "toll booth" put in place at Hormuz (a *very* bad notion), then perhaps we should start by insisting that our idiotic, demented president stop threatening to do so on our own or in partnership with Iran. The current situation is -- in every way -- his responsibility.

President Nyarlathotep Is Simply Engaging in Classic “Mad Outer God” Negotiating Tactics “This is classic Negotiating 101 courtesy of the Faceless God himself. Sure, he may have kicked it up a notch from ‘sheer madness’ to ‘abject depravity,’ but...

"We all know he’s the Crawling Chaos, and that title implies a certain degree of unpredictability. But even for him, his vow to “gorge on the carcass of humanity itself” unless his latest (albeit nebulous) demands are met is pretty intense."
