We confirmed the match using a data breach search website: the same phone number is linked to both the name “Alexander Norden” and the Substack account “HowlingMutant,” which links to the X account and uses the same profile picture.
Pictures and biographical information from Norden’s LinkedIn and social media closely matched information that HowlingMutant had posted, including employment history and living in New York.
The identification came as a result of a HowlingMutant post about the J.G. Ballard novel “Concrete Island.” The Goodreads page for the book showed a review from a user named “Alex Norden.”
HowlingMutant went on the podcast of Patrick Casey, the former leader of American neo-Fascist group Identity Evropa. He said he knows that “a lot of political people” don’t follow him because of his posts “about being a retarded pedophile or something.”
He has also posted about the Holocaust, writing that it’s “been used as a cudgel against any right wing movements for years.” He’s joked about being sexually attracted to a pile of shoes at the Holocaust Museum, and referenced Holocaust denial tropes like “wooden doors.”
Earlier this week, Decoherence Media reported on 8 fascist, antisemitic, or otherwise far-right accounts that JD Vance followed on X. HowlingMutant was one of them. He frequently posts about rape and refers to himself as a rapist, and makes antisemitic jokes.
NEW: We’ve identified the man who runs the far-right troll account on X “HowlingMutant,” whose jokes about rape and the Holocaust have earned him nearly 200,000 followers, which include Vice President JD Vance. His name is Alexander Norden, from Rockaway Park in New York City.

Vance’s far-right activity doesn’t stay on X: in 2024 he defended the baseless conspiracy theory that Haitian immigrants were eating pets. A Hitler-quoting account with username “Captivedreamer7” took credit for putting “the whole situation back onto JD Vance's radar.”
“Rogue Scholar Press” publishes books from proto-fascist and fascist authors, has made jokes about Holocaust denial talking points like “six million,” and has described Hitler as “the lesser evil.”
“Lomez,” identified by @jasonaw.bsky.social as Jonathan Keeperman, runs a far-right publishing company, and has complained that you couldn’t “ask any questions” about 6 million Jews dying in the Holocaust. Vance quote-posted him in November 2021.
“Second City Bureaucrat” frequently uses the antisemitic terms “ZOG” (Zionist Occupied Government) and “goyslop,” and replies to posts from Jewish accounts with phrases like “okay jew.”
“HowlingMutant” is a troll who has written “You should not be mad at the Jews for crucifying Jesus…there are so many other things to be mad at them for,” and has joked about Holocaust denial talking points like “wooden doors.”
“Bronze Age Pervert,” identified as writer Costin Alamariu, has called himself “a nude bodybuilder and a fascist,” and referred to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. using a racial epithet and suggested fundraising for “a few camwhores to urinate on his image.”
“FischerKing” has praised Spanish dictator Francisco Franco and lamented that the reputation of the Waffen SS was “tarnished” by the activities of camp SS units. JD Vance quote-posted him in February 2024.
“Crémieux,” run by race-science blogger Jordan Lasker, has said “We know blacks tend to be less intelligent. This is extremely well-replicated,” and has self-identified in Reddit comments as “Jewish and a National Socialist,” as reported by @motherjones.com
“Raw Egg Nationalist,” operated by far-right British fitness influencer Charles Cornish-Dale, has posted memes of Adolf Hitler and favorably quoted “Mein Kampf.”
Vance follows far-right public figures like neo-reactionary Curtis Yarvin and alleged sex trafficker Andrew Tate, but the accounts we’ve highlighted are less well-known and mostly pseudonymous.
NEW: Vice President JD Vance follows fascists and antisemites on X. Several accounts joke about Holocaust denial, one has called himself a “fascist,” another a “national socialist,” and a third says Hitler was “the lesser evil.”
🚨 @decoherence.media just used OSINT Industries to expose the leader of a neo-Nazi Active Club in Kansas.
This is exactly what we built the platform for: investigative journalists doing the work that protects communities 🎯

Patriot Front-run Active Clubs want you to think they're not violent, that they're just a group that cares about fitness and defending Western culture. However, despite what PF members may say in court or to CNN, reporting shows over and over again that PF & ACs are full of violent neo-Nazis.
An investigation by @decoherence.media identifies the leader of the Heartland Active Club, a Kansas neo-Nazi group, as Jacob Daniel Jones. According to GPAHE, Active Clubs now operate in over two dozen countries, united by white supremacist ideology, and growing ties to networks like Patriot Front.

This kind of military-style training is rare among Active Clubs. @jtischauser.bsky.social of the Southern Poverty Law Center told us that it “signals that this chapter wants to escalate and move away from activities associated with” Active Clubs.

Finally, Heartland Active Club posted pictures of two members at a “run n gun” shooting competition. We identified the venue (by comparing pictures of the wood grain pattern) and found the event results, listing a Jacob Jones who placed 23rd out of 26 participants.

Multiple photos posted to Heartland Active Club’s Telegram channel show the same dog—a mixed anatolian/great pyr named Maximus—as is shown on Jones’ wife’s Instagram account.
