I'm continuing to read The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, as well as Il Fu Mattia Pascal by Luigi Pirandello.

5. Plus, now because they're angry they're more likely to start doing that first thing that they weren't doing before we attacked them.

So let me get this straight:
1. We attacked a country for doing something it was already not doing.
2. Then in retaliation the country started doing something else that we didn't like.
3. We couldn't stop them from doing this new thing.
4. So we decided to do the new thing with them.

Honestly? Some of them do want to learn. Others feel like they have to go to have a chance to get decent jobs, or are setting back the time they have to enter the workforce, in the hope that four years from now, it will somehow be less of a hellscape.

I wrote and posted this to Instagram a couple of days ago and it became my most-read poem ever. I’m honored I get to feel big feelings alongside you all. I’m posting it here too and want to use this space more consistently. Hello friends ❤️

Could you also make sure that the motion detecting light turns off while you're sitting and the sensor is actually outside the bathroom?
Thanks so much!

Oh yeah, I teach at a University and my students despise AI. It's funny because the administration keeps holding courses for faculty on how to adapt to and work with AI. Whereas the students are so wildly opposed that when one of my colleagues gave them an AI project, the students refused.

A TikToker did a social experiment where she called churches to get help to buy formula to feed her baby.

Every church repeatedly declined to help.

TikTok now can’t stop talking about the experiment.

I'm at the age where I want to be whisked off my feet for an adventure, but only if the adventure involves me being in pajamas and lying down by 9:00 p.m.

Also, there are plenty of Italians who never even participated in the slave trade or murdered a whole bunch of people, so basically any of them would be good

Well, considering the fact that Columbus never entered the area of what would become the Continental United States, didn't discover it, and that the continent itself might be named after a whole different Italian explorer named Amerigo Vespucci, I can think of at least one obvious one
