Pension Credit Pension Credit is extra money for pensioners to bring your weekly income up to a minimum amount - what you'll get, apply, eligibility.

Across the UK there are 880,000 pensioners estimated to have been eligible for pension credit but who had not put in a claim.

Those who apply before 21 December will receive backdated payments of both pension credit and the winter fuel allowance.

It should be pointed out that the winter fuel benefit system in Scotland was to be the fairest in the U.K. Pension Age Winter Heating Payment was designed via consultation with many stakeholder groups.

The SNP Scottish Government will introduce a universal Pension Age Winter Heating Payment, following the UK Labour government's decision to cut the Winter Fuel Payment to 900,000 Scots.
