Squire Bass VI in black finish with a brown/red tortoiseshell pickguard, an Indian laurel fretboard, and a poplar body. It looks like a Fender Jaguar but it is a bass tuned one octave below a typical guitar.

A customized version of the Bass VI is my main instrument these days so I absolutely feel that lol

(Thurston Moore tuning a string down 2.3 steps and playing super off-key as a joke): You guys like this?

(Audience): Wow, so avante-garde.

(Thurston Moore, surprised): Oh. Yeah okay I'll make a career out of this specifically.

If you have had a near-religious experience at a gelato place because of how insanely good it is, you understand what's up lol

I usually just try and listen to music or read a book to fill time so it doesn't feel wasted. Have started thinking of it as kind of a break from having to work or do “productive” things and it has become much more tolerable tbh.

Ice cream is just okay in general but most of it is cheap and not good.

Gelato is better because at a slightly high temp and with more fat you can actually taste the flavor, but department store gelato is hardly distinguishable from ice cream. Gotta go to an actual Gelato place for the good stuff.

When I started to think of an hour-long train ride across the city of Chicago to get somewhere as routine, I knew I had taken the Public Transit Pill

Yeah exactly. And they work at such a scale that they have horrible ecological effects and are trained on anything and everything. But like for a local open-source model where you ethically train it, whole different story imo.

How is that EHX bass synth pedal? Have been curious about playing around with bass synth pedals but there seems to be a bunch of options. I have always appreciated EHX’s quality for its price point

Yeah I'm also introverted and basically didn't have IRL friends until I moved to Chicago with a couple exceptions. There isn’t really an early 2010s Tumblr-like online community or another off-beat/niche and interesting social space widely available like I had. It all feels centralized/consolidated.

Totally there is like actually little to no hope for a better world as things currently stand. I’m a millennial that at least was online during a period where social media was fun or interesting and there was generally things to do and causes to believe in. I don’t know what to say to kids now.

Yeah they made SCP House of Leaves with trendy liminal space aesthetics basically. It feels like a logical evolution of creepypasta for people who missed that wave.

yeah it is a hard time trying to explain to young people, who have never known a world except for this current extremely horrible one, that they should care when there are so many reasons it is very hard and taxing to do so

I don't have insults for what I want to say about those threatening it or the grief and fear I am feeling about this situation

I realize that everything is hellish and NASA basically exists to combat the USSR’s scientific progress for propaganda reasons and it's all evil and bad but these two images are genuinely so breathtaking

If the real-world treatment of trans women by the healthcare system was invented for a work of fiction, it would instantly read as an absurdist satire of all the issues with cis women's healthcare. yeah you can get a vagina but only if the doctor thinks he'd want to fuck it afterwards.
