We just wrapped up our annual health program reviews, which this year took place in Ethiopia. Grateful to our Ethiopian colleagues for hosting us and to our ministry of health and donor partners with whom we collaborate in the fight to #BeatNTDs. Here’s a peek behind the scenes at this year’s event!
We appreciated the opportunity to join our friends at The Center for Election Innovation & Research to share reflections on our international election observation work — encompassing 128 elections in 40 countries since 1989 — and the lessons we can apply here at home to strengthen democracy.
Trachoma blinds millions worldwide. In South Sudan, it was threatening nine children's sight — until The Carter Center flew them from their remote villages to the country's only pediatric eye clinic. Now they're back home, seeing clearly.
Carter Center Board Chair Jason Carter responds to President Trump's threats to destroy "a whole civilization," saying, "Our country must be better than President Trump’s unbridled and dangerous rhetoric."
Science gives us the power to fight ancient diseases in some of the most remote parts of the globe. With scientific collaboration, life-changing medication, and community-based education, we can end neglected tropical diseases and bring hope for a brighter future.

Wishing a blessed Ramadan to all who celebrate!
