In theory it could also route via Entroncamento - Castelo Branco - Guarda - Vilar Formoso (the latter section reopened in Q4) if the infrastructure allows for it

That being said the Pampilhosa - Mangualde - Guarda section is still closed due to works but _should_ finally reopen in Q1

Sadly the Badajoz route would skip Coimbra (😭) and Salamanca which would be a shame. It would also mean no chance at all of reopening the service to Irún/Hendaye which previously ran coupled to/from Medina del Campo. Schedule wise the previous route also worked ok tbh
