Charleson Park, actually in Fairview, at least the northern tip of it, has no washroom, though one is clearly needed. That said, they often do have a stinky porta potty there.

I look forward to hearing why they named it that….

Wish they could beef up the intersection at 7th and Heather to discourage cars from ignoring and just going around the traffic guides (or whatever they are called). I’ve written the city and they basically said it is what it is - complain to the police. :(

Vancouver council is back in session today

Which means they are once again only providing real-time updates on city business to a single website that's under investigation for child exploitation

They've stubbornly defended their approach

Which reaches approximately 50 people

Completely broken. When did we, as a society, decide killing people with automobiles was acceptable and without consequence?

Plan Types | Kagi's Docs Kagi Search Help

I really enjoy using Kagi. Like the other person said, their free trial limited to like 100 searches or something, but to me it’s well worth paying for. At least they’re not bleeding ya for all your data. help.kagi.com/kagi/plans/p...

The City of Vancouver continues to provide real-time text updates about council meetings exclusively on a website that produces mass amounts of deepfake non-consensual sexualized images of minors

Final final, or just for this year? I’ve enjoyed it so far.

SCOOP: Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim is planning to eliminate the city's sustainability and climate department under the guise of a push to prevent increases to property taxes in his proposed 2026 budget.
Great source work by Marc Fawcett-Atkinson to uncover this

Worth noting that because Sim brought forward his proposal for a property tax freeze requiring millions in cuts with just weeks left in the budget process, this is not up for public debate and is not outlined in the documents available to councillors when they vote on this

now blasting This Last Night... In Sodom, such an astonishing album, how the noisy chaos of Slave To This goes into twinkling pop and then perv goth show tunes Murder My Angel and L'Esqualita, absolutely magnficent. One of the best records of the 80s. RIP.

So often I’ve wished there was something like this at events here in Vancouver. I know we have something every now and again, but it seems more rare than it should be.

Any idea @kylalee.ca if these people have the legal authority to ticket like this? I kinda assume there is some weird thing one accepts by parking on their property, but I don’t know….

I’ve covered events in this city for 20 years. They have ruined one of the best parts of the holiday season in Vancouver.

- Removed an accessible, affordable holiday attraction (site entry always by donation)
- Removed funds from 2 local charities that relied on this year-end boost
- Funding JK

I support a democratically elected park board. Part of democracy is ensuring that the government’s decisions match the city’s values.

Vancouver is a city for all its people. Trans people included. I am calling on the Park Board to rethink this event and make this right.
