1 and 3 railroad avenue

Updated rendering from HDS Architecture showing the two buildings under construction at 1 and 3 Railroad Avenue. The project includes 21 apartments and almost 2700 square feet or retail space including an outdoor patio. Construction is expected to wrap up by the summer of 2027.

Lapels Dry Cleaning has moved next to Steve's Pizza at 32 Shawsheen Avenue. The Dry Cleaner was previously located in Blue Ribbon Plaza adjacent to Jersey Mike's.

Sam Walker coming to 213 Burlington Road replacing Bamboo

Work begins on Sam Walker’s American Tavern at 213 Burlington Road. The Tavern which has an existing location in Woburn is replacing Bamboo which closed last fall. The restaurant is expected to include outdoor seating and is planning to open before the end of the summer.

Construction has started at 1 Railroad Avenue. The mixed use project features 20 apartments and 1800 square feet of retail space which will be located on the first floor of a second smaller building.

Jia BlueFuji restaurant located at 200 Great Road appears to have permanently closed. The Asian Fusion restaurant replaced Asiana Bistro in 2016.

Temporary Signs for Beacon Bank are now up at 168 Great Road in Bedford Marketplace. Brookline Bank merged with Berkshire Bank last year and renamed to Beacon Bank on February 9th. Some items such as the ATM's still need to transition over to the new name.

Three traffic cameras have been installed at the intersection of Great Road and Bedford Marketplace. Note the external antenna for WiFi along with the dark Infrared shielded dome which enable it to work in almost all weather conditions.

Beacon Bank - Merger of Bookline Bank and Berkshire Bank

Brookline Bank at 168 Great Road will change it's name to Beacon Bank on February 9th. The Bank had merged with Berkshire Bank last September. The new combined company will have close to 150 branches across the Northeast.

The Melting Pot - New Sign

The Melting Pot at 213 Burlington Rd has been renovated including a new sign. The new Melting Pot Evolution design as it's called, includes movable tables + a more neutral color tone. Close to 90% of Melting Pots have already been renovated with the remaining to be completed before the end of 2026.

Not Your Average Joe's in The Bedford Marketplace at 158 Great Road opened on Saturday. The restaurant is still waiting for it's All Alcohol Restaurant License to get approved.

Energy Nutrition

Energy Plus Nutrition at 186 Great Road in Blue Ribbon Plaza has rebranded to Pura Vida Acai Caffe. While the restaurant remains open, a "Grand Opening" celebration is planned for Saturday October 4th. The restaurant originally opened in January of 2022.

Chase Bank is set to open October 7th at 94 Great Road. This is the former location of Santander Bank.

Not Your Average Joe's at 158 Great Road In Bedford Marketplace

Sign is up for Not Your Average Joe's at 158 Great Road In Bedford Marketplace. The new restaurant is expected to open by the end of the month. The space was previously occupied by Painted Burro + has been empty for several years. Not Your Average Joe's closed it's Burlington Location last December.

Bay State Physical Therapy Sign at 175 Great Road Bedford MA

Bay State Physical Therapy has moved from 186 Great Road in Blue Ribbon Plaza to 175 Great Road. The new location is across the street and above the TD Bank.

The European Wax Center at 160 Great Road in Bedford Marketplace has closed. The Bedford Location opened in June of 2023. There are still 25 European Wax Centers in Massachusets with the closest location being in Burlington.

Sunoco Gas Station at 180 Great Road Bedford MA

The Sunoco Gas Station at 180 Great Road has new signs with updated branding. The new signs are blue and white and seem to pop better than the old Blue, Red and Orange. The gas station, known internally by Sunoco as station #5382706 is open until 10pm every day.

Minuteman Diner at 363 Great Road is scheduled to close on July 30th. The owner is retiring. Stay tuned for more details.

Bedford Cupcakes Mobile Dessert Cart

Bedford Cupcakes/Express Pizza at 65 Loomis Street has a new Mobile Dessert Cart. Expect to see it at upcoming Bedford Events such as Flavors of Bedford and Bedford Day.

Great Road Residences

Rendering of proposed Great Road Residences at 277 Great Road. Project will consist of around 50 units of housing and is located in the new MBTA Communities Multifamily Zoning district.

Demolition has started at 139 Great Road for the new Bedford Fire Station. Construction is expected to take less than 2 years.

Bubble and Bark Dog Grooming is now open at 101 Great Road. The business is located at the former UPS Store location which closed in December 2024.

Euphoria Coffee at 355 Great Road is expected to open on Monday. Initial hours are expected to be Mon-Fri 7am-3pm and 8am-3pm on Saturday. The Coffee Shop has an existing location in Chelmsford.

Northeast Promotions appears to be opening a location at 1 DeAngelo Drive in the Depot District. The company purchased the 12,650 square foot office building in March for just under $2 Million. The company is currently headquartered in Lynnfield MA.

New Five Guys Restaurant in Bedford Marketplace

Construction continues on the Five Guys Restaurant at 168 Great Road in Bedford Marketplace. Renovation work is expected to wrap up next month. The Bedford location is expected to be the 49th location in Massachusetts.

FYZICAL Therapy + Balance Center is now open at 200 Great Road in the former location of Bedford Auto Parts. This is the 9th location in Massachusetts for the Physical Therapy franchise, which focuses on Fall Prevention, Orthopedic and Vestibular Rehabilitation. The Center is open 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri

According to a recent listing on Kimco Reality, Not Your Average Joe's is coming to the 6,367 square foot space previously occupied by Painted Burro and Posto at 158 Great Road In Bedford Marketplace. Stay tuned for more details.

Blackbird Cafe at 321 Great Road in the Great Road Shopping Center is now open. The new restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch is open 7 days a week from 7:30am-2:30pm.

Z Principle Dance Academy opened last month at 200 Great Road. The Academy is focused on education and training in ballet, modern + Chinese classical dance. The new dance academy is 6,000 square feet + replaces Bedford Auto Parts which closed last year. The Academy has a 2nd location in Framingham.

FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center is coming soon to suite 11 at 200 Great Road. This is part of the former location of Bedford Auto. The Physical Therapy Franchise has over 620 locations across the United States.

Interior work has started at the new Five Guys location at 168 Great Road in the Bedford Marketplace. The space was previously a B.Good which closed in 2022. B.Good is owned by Streetlight Ventures which also owns Red Heat + Anna's Taqueria. Many other local B.Goods were replaced by Anna's Taqueria.
