I definitely didn't want to, & tried to persuade everyone I knew to vote NO; but what can you do when people either can't be bothered to vote (!!!!), or are one of the much-fewer-than-half-the-population who had no idea what would actually happen when they irresponsibly put an X in the wrong place?

Now on The Frame Blog: Maarten vn t'Klooster's book on historic picture frames in general + Netherlandish frames in particular has three reviews. It's a stunningly illustrated book, and is written for the layman/-woman.

Book review: Omkaderd/ Framed Here is a review of a recently published book on frames by Maarten van 't Klooster. Or, rather, here are three reviews of the same book - one by a layperson (at whom the work is primarily aimed), sandwiched between two by a frame specialist (one in English and one in Dutch, since that's the language of the book). With luck, it will be successful enough to be published in an English translation, and possibly in other languages - because the more books we have to explain to the uninitiated how beautiful, fascinating and important frames are, the better-served every painting and every museum visitor will be.

So it turns out Reform are laundering their donations through crypto, before converting them into cash, hiding the original source of the money.

So who is really funding Nigel Farage and Reform UK?

Clasps, for the dedicated follower of fashion 😊

Both corset and clog.

Just a couple of decorated corset clasps, but they went to town to add a bit of bling to their clogs 🥰

17th – 18th century silvered & lacquered frames from Barcelona by Gema de Cambra Florensa Introduction This article attempts to describe, identify and locate the origin of a group of unusual Spanish Baroque frames. Several examples of these architrave, flat or plate frames, finished in silverleaf, lacquered, and decorated in monochrome with scrolling foliate ornamentation on the frieze, have passed through the author's workshop. They date from the 17th and early 18th centuries, share identical construction methods, were made from the same materials, and have very similar decoration.

When I hear someone say, “russia wants peace,” it feels like they’re mocking us.
While they say this, we are hiding our children in shelters from russian missiles and drones.
