Witnessed the term "Blorbos" used in a completely negative context and am suddenly panicking, like "is it possible I NEVER understood the slang in the first place?!"

Is... is it an honorific or meant as derogatory?
Like by calling them that, was she trying to make fans like the IP less in protest, or merely attempting to appeal to their fandom?

Very confusing, like if Gooseworks started calling TADC fans "TADColes" in an attempt to convey Strange Frog Things...

Speaking as what amounts to a failed Idea Guy that has always dreamed of being a real game dev, what circumstance led to this realization?

Interested in what a dedicated designer could do that an engineer or artist with strong design instincts couldn't!

I hate this.
*slow clap*
Bravo, that's an image that'll be haunting me until...
...well, until I manage to creatively exorcize the "jar of toothpaste" somehow, good lord!

This looks like a REALLY impressive physics model given the lil' engine that could!

Technical Q: How easy/hard would it be to get the camera to preemptively stay "grounded" on arcs like that last shot of the vid where the velocity isn't high enough to near the top edge of the screen?

I ask you; is it a culinary sin to add some corn starch to a slow cooker chili that isn't thickening up as fast as you expected it to?

It's hard to know who they're talking to when you're the stubborn sort, eh?

Somewhere out there a player that had no idea difficulty modes existed is like "Oh Really? Thanks I Will!"

But we really need to look into framing tech that makes the info drop feel less like an insult to some archetypes!

One of the "perks?" of getting old is that you can have ONE bourbon barrel aged stout and it'll kick your ass the way a whole stupid bar crawl adventure might've when you were 20...

Love those old details from when they had less confidence in the molds/plastic, like jamming a cool orb between the horns to create an "anchored loop."

And you resolved the somewhat confusing leg armor situation by making the bottom plate an exaggerated boot cuff, really clean!

Terrible as it feels like I am at it, there's something really special about #LiesOfP.
The blend of Bloodborne vibes and Sekiro mechanics somehow manages to feel pretty fresh despite owing almost every aspect to FromSoft design.

Oh, wow...
It's like Yoshitaka Amano got possessed by the spirit of Frida Khalo or something, dang.

Oh, wow- it's less pronounced now as an adult, but I can sort of still see it, that's wild!

I'm not crazy, right? He really does have a bit of a dome on the 'ol skull for a cat?

Curious scaling down on the face...
Mammal skulls tend to "grow into" features like that, not the other way 'round, which is why having eyes proportionally larger than the head triggers such a strong "aw, baby!" response.

Hopefully a case of image editing or GenAI weirdness and not a mutation!

These #Pragmata reviews are telling me what I want to hear; that Capcom is still making 'em like they used to~

Excited to play a relatively short and traditional single player game with an original gameplay hook!

Clickbait header formats so regularly omit actual game names that I assumed the capsule copy contained a typo back there and was supposed to read "Two New Dungeon Crawler Card Games..."

Turns out Dungeon Crawler Carl is real, and that'll teach me not to research my dumb jokes!

Despite containing many game-shaped thingies, it's not giving "game;" have the creators/curators of Roblox ever offered an "introductory" experience demonstrating what form experiences should take?

Thinking about how Little Big Planet or Dreams fundamentally read as games despite being platforms...

-does that make me some sort of elderly "sweet summer child," or does it wrap all the way around and somehow mark me as some sort of unbeknownst quadruple pervert?

Am I Part Of The Problem?!

GOD I wish this wasn't merely a reference to the Quiet "Words and Deeds" Kojima quote!

I'm going to be way too real; I enjoyed that demo immensely and have been hella looking forward to Pragmata...

I did NOT clock that her feet were out until reading this and am spiraling a bit-

This is post 3, but honestly it's going to take another 6 or so because there's no way that isn't a bit.

Sure! ...and in that period of heavy overlap and improvement, it's REAL easy to imagine the sling oldsters being like "These bows are a fad, they'll NEVER be as accurate or deadly as a good old rock to the head!"

We'll see what happens if and when the Roblox generation "puts away childish things;" who knows, maybe the ones that keep playing will inexplicably get hooked on a wave of autobiographical narrative games and Covid-fueled disaster sims or something.

4 days ago 1 0 0 0

Yes! This is basically just the eternal role of an aging, previous generation, to scoff on their way out.

Some neolithic sling master was probably talking shit about the bow and arrow as hunting tools evolved; it may have simply ALWAYS been like this, hilariously.

Not sure it actually is weird; 40 years after the printing press brought literature to the masses, blowhards and pundits were probably still scoffing at the format of the fictional novel or something.

I'm very impatient for the generational shift that finally folds games into the elder zeitgeist.

You've been granting the algorithmic thralls clemency?

When the Tubes of Yůụ manage to encircle a human heart completely, they may begin "commenting" on your videos in an attempt to transform them into "content."

Rest assured, those creatures no longer contain personhood.

BTW I was skeptical when they added the comedic cat sidekick in DCC3, but the little guy is mad useful and lowkey hilarious.

A ComicBook.com news article capsule picturing a muscled anti-hero wearing heart boxers with a sunglasses-wearing cat on his shoulder, captioned "Two New Dungeon Carl [sic] Games Are On The Way (And One Lets You Play As Princess Donut)"

You can tell wokeness is destroying gaming when half of the new Dungeon Crawler Carl sequels/spinoffs have you playing as Princess Donut instead of SAVING her!

It's a slippery slope; are the libs gonna make Carl put pants on next?!

Ultimately, I'm guessing this just comes down to caring way more about the design, intent, and interactions of games than things like the graphics and how many different things are technically possible within them.

I guess intellectually I understand why people are theoretically excited for #GTA6, but thinking back to bouncing off RDR2, then even further to the bloat of San Andreas, and never having touched GTA5...

It can be very hard to square the oncoming reality with my perceived experiences.

Vaguely recall getting two different "Out Of Bounds; Mission Failed" states climbing up on a roof to snipe and trying to come at an encounter from a novel angle, then quitting after being flunked for knocking out some threatening drunk that I guess the narrative wanted me to deal with some other way

The problem with pushing a sandbox so far systemically and then clamping all the way down to tell your story; it feels like playing two conjoined games tearing at each other.
Vice City wasn't realistic or deep enough for it to matter!

I also bailed super early after having similar experiences...
