Yes I'll be hugely pissed off if they cull them. This appears to be nature in action; species expand, change, adapt as the planet changes. Our avifauna isn't a museum piece. This arrival is totally different than any human introduction.

Thoughts on human intervention? I tend to feel this looks like natural expansion, maybe due to changing landscape use in Indonesia. Nature isn't static and many of our local birds' ancestors made their way here similarly. Tree sparrows that previously landed on that island (from Timor?) were shot.

Really enjoyed “The Lost City of Melbourne” on @netflix.com Australia.

One side in the Keith and Nicole marriage split keeps feeding favoured media info and critical digs about the other. The other side is so far completely silent.

So interesting to hear Madonna give her first proper interview in many, many years, and one that doesn't focus on product. I've missed her! Was never interested in her Instagram phase, and now I'm happily reconnecting with a figure who once meant a lot to me.

A humongous channel billed cuckoo just tried to lay an egg in a currawong nest in my back tree. I didn’t know the nest was there until I heard the unholy, ear splitting squawking of the cuckoo and the parents going off. Looks like it might be a very noisy summer. #Sydney

Netflix show is about the US version but I covered the Aus one, which in the first few seasons featured Bob & Jillian.

Can’t wait to see #FitForTV, the Biggest Loser exposé coming to Netflix. I covered the show in early seasons and one of the trainers told me off the record how “gross” they found it.

May 3, 2021: the first episode of A Journey Through Stock Aitken Waterman was released.

In episodes 18-52, @matthewdenby.bsky.social and I covered SAW's glory days from 1987 to 1989.

What was your favourite single from this era? And your favourite interview on the podcast about these tracks?

Kylie ditched in Colorado for something called the Nuggets. Australia needs to lodge a formal protest. Worst thing to happen to Denver since Alexis Carrington was exiled to Acapulco.

So many small and big moments in life just fade away but I recall everything about buying this album (on cassette!) and listening to it every night in my teenage bedroom as I did my homework. SAW’s best album and one of the great pop moments of the 80s.

My fave SAW album and one of my fave albums of the 80s. I used to listen to it every night while doing my homework.

I want to see a film about Jackie and Joan Collins.

Watched the Milli Vanilli movie last night. Can’t believe the amount of time they devoted to the idea that doing a cover is somehow shady or scandalous. Fun movie though. And sad.
