Getting transparent terrain + water + decals working in Unity URP was way trickier than I thoughtโฆ but I really like the approach for blending objects with the terrain, so I kept digging :)
I finally found an approach that works for me.

I created this little tribute to one of the first fishing games (Fishing Derby). maybe Iโll include it as a playable loading screen or I'll hide it somewhere in my game ๐
Fading my water edges to transparent now. I think it feels more natural, even if itโs a bit less stylized ๐ง

Feeling like announcing my game today! ๐
ALL IN FLUX
A little fishing and exploration game I'm working on.
You swim the waters in otter form, solve physics puzzles, catch insects and experiment with lure-crafting to reel in the ultimate catch. Every fish is unique!
(chuckles) I'm in danger. ๐ฅ

I wanted to somehow influence the bugs, so I added a shiny light ๐ก

I found some bugs ๐

I added some atmospheric particle effects like dust specks, flying grass, and subtle drifting fog โจ

Improved fish pathfinding and object avoidance ๐

I started working on a dynamic day-night cycle ๐

Finally got around to implementing proper swimming mechanics ๐ฆฆ

I try to prevent sudden camera movement while jumping by moving the camera target only when the character lands. Just wanted to share that I finally found a solution that works for me :)

Working on splash effects ๐ฆ
#gamedev #indiegame #unity3d
Hey, thanks! Also your feedback is much appreciated! Sometimes while developing you stop noticing things as clearly as someone with a fresh outside perspective. So thanks in any case for commenting!
It's definitely missing some splashes yeah. I will add those eventually but I like to get the hard part done with first, which for me was optimizing my ripple solver setup.
Tried my hand at smoother water interaction ๐ฆ

The scene view is beautiful in its own way, haha ๐
Made a new skybox shader to go with my happy little clouds ๐ค๏ธ

Testing a more stylized look for the clouds โ๏ธ
#gamedev #indiegame #unity3d
Added a hand-painted noise texture for cloud movement. I am quite happy with how it turned out ๐

Making progress with cloud rendering ๐ค๏ธ
I modeled a cloud mesh and also realized I might not even need a blur pass to match the look of my game.
