👏 Canada 👏 Post 👏 is 👏 a 👏 public 👏 service 👏

Nothing proves how capitalism has brain rotted everyone than thinking the post office, hospitals, public transit, libraries, etc. need to turn a profit to be worthwhile.

Honestly I have to mute these ads or look away when they come on because all I can think of is the massive waste of money while our hospitals and schools crumble 🤬

Cool that many of the same people who failed to protect women gymnasts (and who knows how many other women athletes) from predators will now use the Olympic movement to incite hate against another marginalized community. Yet another institution capitulates to Trump.

As the guy who was hired multiple times 15-20 years ago to write the think pieces about "separating art for the artist" I can say unequivocally that all has been said and argued. You ABSOLUTELY CAN enjoy the work of awful people. But that doesn't make you nuanced or wise. It makes you complicit.

Doug Ford going to the mat on this like it is an existential threat probably because it is.

There has to be something so damning, so utterly corrupt in these emails and phone records that he sees it as a legitimate threat to both his political future and future business dealings.

Finding ourselves, seeing our neighbours: Why access to art and libraries aren't add-ons - Halifax Examiner And a bit of introspection doesn't hurt either.

Philip nails it in this piece. « Finding ourselves, seeing our neighbours: Why access to art and libraries aren't add-ons » www.halifaxexaminer.ca/morning-file...

With Cesar Chavez being outed as a serial abuser of women and girls, we can add to the list that men can imagine a world where there are rights for all workers, but not human rights for women.

I just clued into the Afroman defamation lawsuit. Amazing. Absolutely amazing content. Actually, it surpasses mere content. It is art.

If he's going to get a national profile on the strength of a younger woman's campaign, I'm going to come out and say it: during his short-lived tenure as a math professor, Biss had an inappropriate romantic relationship with one of his undergraduate students. I was that student.

Palantir CEO Makes Shocking Confession on Disrupting Democratic Power They’re saying the quiet part out loud now.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of “highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat” while increasing the power of working-class men."

And you wonder why feminism exists AND WHY WE STILL HAVE TO FIGHT.

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

The only variable consistently correlated to birth rates is its inverse relationship to women’s education. To seek higher birth rates is to strip women of a lot of rights they should not have to even fight for, because they should be guaranteed

Ontario to introduce bill exempting Premier, cabinet from FOI requests Government’s proposed changes follow its loss of court battle over call logs for Ford’s personal cellphone

I am begging my fellow Canadians to take a break for a second from obsessing about American corruption to focus on our home grown versions.

Ford is a corrupt crony goon who has done countless shady backroom deals. He wants to remove one of our most powerful tools to hold him accountable. Fuck that!

Iran has officially pulled out of the World Cup, stating that conditions in the US are not safe for players or fans.

More countries must follow suit.

The US will only respond to public pressure and financial retaliation.

Boycott the World Cup.

Boycott the Olympics.

Boycott America.

Sad to see PM Carney choosing to skip the Parliamentary debate over the Iran war. In times of crisis we look to the PM.
This would have been a powerful moment to provide the Canadian people with a sense of leadership in this dark time.
