In an emergency hearing tonight, Judge Boasberg stated he found the Trump administration’s failure to provide people due process before deporting them to a foreign prison is inconsistent with the Supreme Court’s recent directive.
Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants
the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever
they aren’t going into universities’ endowments
they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research

Quick point. Congress can use the spending fight in September (remember Chuck Schumer surrendered till then) to prevent a single dollar from being used to house prisoners in El Salvador.
I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.
I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.
