I took the photo too, on Siesta Key Beach, in Sarasota, Florida. The Gulf Coast is a magical place. If I could figure out how to afford living there I’d do it and become one of those annoying early risers. All for the chance to paddle board in the quiet morning waters.

The firing of multiple generals is a worrying sign. These individuals were combat veterans. They understood the horrible cost of war and lead from the front.

Replacing soldiers of this caliber in the event of war raises questions and destroys morale.

The dialogue of Reagan and Thatcher at the end hits different now. We’ve started a war—without Congressional approval—on the thinnest of pretenses. And it’s damn sure not Hegseth or Trump’s children who’ll be fighting it.

Bondi was awful, but no worse than Patel. Noem was terrible, but no worse than Hegseth. Funny that it’s only the women who get fired.
