Airway Goblet Metaplasia Resulting from YAP/TAZ Deletion Drives Pulmonary Inflammatory Responses - PubMed The increased presence of goblet epithelial cells in conducting airways of the respiratory system is common in pulmonary disorders and is often accompanied by disrupted immune and alveolar responses. ...

Our latest study is out! We investigated the effects of inducing goblet airway epithelial cells in the lung arising from YAP/TAZ inhibition, finding distinct inflammatory networks with implications for disease. Congrats to team and first author Carina!

LATS1/2 inactivation in the mammary epithelium drives the evolution of a tumor-associated niche | EMBO reports imageimageLATS1/2-inactivation and consequent nuclear YAP/TAZ hyperactivation in the mammary epithelium drives the development of a pro-oncogenic stromal niche. Inhibitors of YAP/TAZ-TEAD activity blo...

Despite the chaos and uncertainty, I am happy to share our latest publication. In this study, we mapped stromal changes in mammary carcinomas initiated by epithelial LATS1/2 kinase inhibition and demonstrated the effectiveness of TEAD inhibitors in this model.

Lung injury-induced activated endothelial cell states persist in aging-associated progressive fibrosis - Nature Communications The regenerative capacity of the lung in response to injury deteriorates with aging. Here, Raslan et al. discover that aging-associated progressive lung fibrosis is accompanied by persistent activatio...

Great collaborative study with Giovanni Ligresti’s lab is out! We identify age-related lung endothelial cell states that associate with injury-induced fibrosis.

Generation of human alveolar epithelial type I cells from pluripotent stem cells Kotton and colleagues generate human alveolar epithelial type I cells (AT1s) from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The resulting cells can be grown as 3D organoids or in 2D air-liquid interface...

Recipe for making pulmonary AT1 cells from human iPSCs just out from the Kotton lab. Great collaboration!
