That's just the tip of the iceberg. You can't let your country be run by lunatics, in case you didn't know before.

It really smashed to bits, the funny thing is how they expected that to work. Not nearly strong enough.

Even the public health people have to bend to the reality that if people don't see something working they don't appreciate it. They don't fund it. And people emphasize even the *planning* to put Humpty Dumpty back together again, instead of preventing the fall.

I remember long ago seeing a Ted talk, which won the prize for best Ted talk, emphasizing detection and response in virus outbreaks. Lately I've realized this omits actual prevention through consistent masking, hand washing and so on, which is an even better idea.

I am big on these things of course but I actually thing that even the experts are under appreciating prevention. Hand washing and clean air measures such as air purifiers can prevent epidemics, and not depend on people being smart. Let's face, it, that doesn't generally work very well.

Of course I agree but I still think that's not getting at the root issue :(.

Well yeah but they do this on a lot of things even more serious by far. It's always the odd one out that's right, too. And even when the data proves it other countries don't cotton on... So many stupid people :(.

Well they do have a point. However a device after the main breaker that solved both problems and allowed the connection there might make sense. It would need a different connector but that could be fine.

Why is not everything reasonable already legal? We need a society where only certain things are illegal, not where everything except xyz is illegal.

You have to respect how crazy it would be if you did not. You have to realize how fucked up the system you are a part of is. That this even had to be fought.

Why haven't they done this already??? So crazy.

As I said everyone thinks their own culture is the one true way...

It really depends on the dog. It's also really a cultural thing and everyone believes their culture is the one true way. In many countries dogs run around everywhere freely just like cats do here and it works pretty well.

Even for that you can probably do something more cost effective :D

I have to wonder with all the cuts to science and so much more humble stuff that needs to be done, is Artemis really the most cost effective way to do the most relevant science?

Wikipedia used to be great but it's really gone south. I constantly notice severe errors. It may be something to do with ai. But the organization is not functioning, improvements never actually stick.

Wikipedia has really gone out the window. All the stuff on clean air is complete trash. I tried fixing some and all my contributions were lost. You gotta get things working proper.

A tv show that is not trash :D

Can you make sure it's all backed up and published so it doesn't at least actually disappear?

Why didn't everyone do this before? Pretty basic that you have to feed them the right nutrients. There are probably plenty of ways to produce the nutrients.

Clearly the more fundamental problem is that this was not allowed already. You can't get a bill passed to allow every tiny thing. Things need to be allowed by default. That's freedom.

It's still a far from perfect solution because it took forever and was very stressful I'm sure to sue. Also usually that doesn't work. We need a system that's reliable for dealing with such injustice. The next company will still do this because they rarely actually get nailed.

I kind of liked it, it's getting closer to the idea of a Lego kit for grown ups. All the standard common parts and stuff, but it would be better if they indicated which parts/fits are preferred/easy to get. It's easy to pick something wacky.

The hilarious thing is that a very large fraction of Quebec is heated with electricity powered by renewables.

Everyone has to stop burning so much fossil fuel, that is beyond debate. It had to stay in the ground anyway. The taps have to be turned off, people will never stop otherwise. There are alternatives.

That's because we forced them to address the lead issue. We haven't forced them on the airborne illness yet.

That's a great idea. Let's do it. What's not to like?

Looks like the ruling class are bombing the fossil fuel infrastructure, including the natural gas stuff. I tried to tell everyone you gotta use solar thermal and ervs! Well the best time to plant a tree is today. Gotta stop burning fossil fuels anyway.
