BREAKING: A 4th U.S. service member has been killed in the military operation with Iran.
I want you all to remember that we had a way to stop iran from getting nuclear weapons. It was a nuclear agreement that the international community all agreed was working.

Movie poster with sunset over nyc and military helicopters in the air. “WELCOME TO THE FRONT LINE WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY ALEX GARLAND CIVIL WAR FROM THE WRITER OF 28 DAYS LATER EX MACHINA ANNIHILATION”
Not enough saw @alexgarland.bsky.social’s Civil War.
I’d avoided it bc it was marketed like an action movie, but was blown away when I saw it… a hard, thought-provoking watch, but mandatory viewing for anyone w/o serious PTSD issues. (Coming from someone who’s had PTSD for decades).

His short story collections made me laugh harder than any writer I've known. He has a brilliantly weird sense of humor, highly recommend them

Yeah, it feels difficult to have any level-headed discussions on these topics. Too many knee-jerk reactions to everything, only thinking in absolutes, etc.
something the left needs to grasp: saying "they would've lost their minds if Obama did this" is a waste of breath. The GOP has embraced a nihilistic view of power; saying one thing and doing another *is the whole point*.
That part stuck out to me too. Even if the mayor doesn't have a direct role in it... it's a pretty big indicator of one's values, where someone stands on that topic. Yet another instance of missing the forest from the trees

On the way to No Kings at NIH.
A graph showing tonnes of CO2 avoided by lifestyle choices. Biggest impacts are living car free and switching to green heating, whereas "Asking ChatGPT 50k fewer questions" is at the bottom
Did you read the blog post you're sharing? It shows that ChatGPT usage is actually fairly insignificant:
It's saved me probably hundreds of hours of work as a software developer at this point. We've used it to identify root causes of production bugs in seconds, which might've taken developers hours to find.
I hate the hype, reminds me of crypto bros raving about NFTs, but I can't deny the impact
This is giving "gentrified Grimace shake" vibes

It's hard to say without knowledge of the business, but have you looked into what Slack-WA integrations there are? I haven't used WA in a professional setting, I could see that improving the UX here. But beyond that, I think what you're suggesting here makes sense
Ahhh yeah that context makes a big difference haha
Without further context, if I were in these shoes, I'd come up with a plan to move off of WA, and show the team how we can more effectively use slack. e.g. identify channel ambiguity & remove channels that don't make sense, make priorities more explicit, educate on how to set up notifications, etc.
It sounds like the team simply needs better Slack hygiene - e.g. improved channel organization and notification management. Using WA here is a bandaid fix, and doesn't address the core issue. But based on the phrasing here, it sounds like the team is content to use WA?
its not about CA becoming red; its about house seats. CA has 52 house seats (43D / 9R). That’s +9 seats for Democrats. With the House at 219R–212D, those seats alone could shift control

A very happy 30th birthday to bisexuality, born this day in 1995 🎂

Blown away by the turnout in Fairport, NY, this morning. Feels like people are awake, and very much aware of the gravity of our current situation.
#NoKings #Fairport #NY
I’m at the No Kings protest in downtown Syracuse, NY where thousands of people are lining both sides of a main street. Cars honk in support as they go by.
I was there today too; for the first time this year, I felt hope. Trump said the protesters organizing this week hate our country, but I saw patriotism and a love for the country today like I've rarely seen before
Fairport NY- thousands for a mile and 1/2. Amazing. Many more in the Rochester area today as well
One bookstore in Ithaca NY sells religious pamphlets but for atheism. If they can hand those out, maybe we should start handing them out too
Just gonna leave this here…
instead of prison, how about handcuffed naked to a radiator, in some random grandpa's house, where you know they've got the heat on full blast even in the summer
