It's because deep sky stuff is big, but dim. The Seestar is excellent at grabbing all the light from big dim things like nebulae and galaxies. Give it a try on something like the Andromeda Galaxy or the Horsehead Nebula and you'll get excellent results in just a few minutes.

Hello @vinylspins.bsky.social. The Seestar isn't well suited to planetary viewing. Once it's focussed, planets will appear as dots rather than discs because the Seestar doesn't have the magnification to see more. I find the Sun, Moon and Deep Sky objects to be more fun and rewarding targets.
Here is the International Space Station flying in front of the sun today. Video captured on #Seestar #S50 and timing thanks to iss.vierwandfrei.de
An ellipse contains an intricate nebula with three dimensional features. The centre is hollow and filled with bright stars. The lighter central nebula darkens to red at the edges where it becomes diffuse
It's cloudy tonight so I had another go at processing the Rosette Nebula from a few weeks ago. This is much better than my previous effort. #astrophotography on the #Seestar #S50 using @siril.org with GraXpert. StarNet and GIMP
A spiral galaxy interacts at the end of one of its two arms with a smaller galaxy which has structure, albeir less-defined, of its own. There is a faint halo around the smaller galaxy which hints at the disruption that its interaction with the larger galaxy has caused
A bright red cartoon fish-like shape in the middle of the image is surrounded by diffuse, dim, red clouds overlaid with lots of stars of varying brightness and colours
The Fish Head Nebula NGC 896 #Seestar #S50 processed with @siril.org, GraXpert, Starnet++ and GIMP
An array of fine stars overlays a red/orange nebula which looks absolutely nothing like Pacman. The brighter centre is paler and the nebula fades away to black at the edges
The Pacman Nebula NGC281 taken on #Seestar #S50 and processed in @siril.org with #GraXpert and #Starnet #astrophotography
A rich star field with a discernible row of small nebulous blobs and a few edge-on galaxies running across the middle of the image
The same image but overlaid with around 50 labels in green indicating loads and loads and loads of deep-sky objects in this image
Markarian's Chain taken using the #Seestar #S50 in mosaic mode. Stacked using astrometric registration in @siril.org 1.3.6 and denoised with #Graxpert within #Siril. This was taken on 20th March, before EQ mode was available.
A clearly-defined spiral galaxy with three arms sits in the centre of a field of stars on a black background. A smaller edge-on galaxy is observed at 4 o'clock and around eight further fuzzy blobs can be seen on closer inspection indicating additional deep-sky objects
A field of stars in a portrair oriented image is belted across the middle with a wide, red, filamentous nebula which contains some brighter filaments on the top and bottom edges. Outside of the main band, fainter red clouds can be seen
Hundreds of varying brightness stars overlay a large nebulous glow with a dark centre filled with bright stars surrounded by an almost green inner section fading through yellow to deep red on the outer edge. The overall shape is round and thin vein-like dark lanes run through it in parts. The shape is irregular. The image itself is oddly cropped reflecting the original mosaic pictures used to create the final image.
The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) ( #Seestar #S50 in mosaic mode)
A thin crescent moon, three days old, with striking shadows cast on the limb from the oblique angle of the sun (pro tip: Blue Ghost is not *actually* visible in this picture)
I took a photograph of Blue Ghost on the moon
NGC 2174 The Monkey Head Nebula #SeestarS50
M33 The Triangulum Galaxy (aka The Pinwheel Galaxy) #SeestarS50
The Whirlpool Galaxy (M51a) and its interacting companion galaxy NGC5195 (M51b) #Seestar #S50 ( #Graxpert #Siril #GIMP )
I used a #Seestar #S50 and iss.vierwandfrei.de (and fortunate clear skies) to record a video of the ISS passing in front of the Sun earlier today. Easier to see in fullscreen. ISS flies right to left from about 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock #astrophotography (#astrovideography?)
Taking advantage of the clear sky this evening with a pic taken on my phone. Caught Andromeda M31 nicely centre stage. #astrophotography
A predominantly red/pink aurora glowing over a roof in central England
Amazing views over the English Midlands tonight!
