Giving safety information is not the same as *holding* women responsible for their own victimization.

It may be good for men to hold other men accountable.

But responsibility is individual. As social justice advocates have pointed out for decades, the *only* one to blame is the actual rapist.

I can’t put to words how soothing it is to have my autism officially diagnosed. Knowing why I’ve struggled all my life and been ostracized and bullied so relentlessly all these years. It’s nice to know it’s not my fault that I’m so “weird”. No excuse, obviously, but it’s a sense of closure I needed.

I think so, thanks! I did get a nice window cubicle this time around (due to seniority). And luckily, unlike with some people, my moving boxes all arrived on time and were arranged in my cubicle by the time I got in.

Finally, early last week our printers/scanners were installed too.

Just getting more time to rest today before actually starting the working week tomorrow.

Two weeks ago today we moved into a new office so the last two weeks (but especially the week before last) were quite stressful!

You got that right.

US summers (except well in the north, which DC is not) are typically hot. Much hotter than the norm for Europe.

Which is why recent European heat waves have taken lives...Europeans aren't used to high heat like many of us are.

Actually, I'm pretty much right in the middle of the US East Coast. In the Deep Southern states it gets much hotter in the summer, easily over 30 (occasionally even 40) C.

I grew up further north, in New York. Went to college in central New York State, where it snows a lot.

Hey there Ydrance! Ordinarily I'm not able to do this during the working week, but today I'm home sick from work.

It's nice and cool outside here near Washington, DC.

How are you?

You know what a splendid opportunity you threw away to justify to your neighbor your installation of the CCTV, right?

Obviously you've grown enough to recognize the relevance. Good luck to you.

Me too, even though on a per ounce basis it's kind of pricy. ;)

Anything chocolate! Chocolate ice cream, chocolate donuts, York Peppermint Patties -- and that's just what I've already devoured today.

That's more like the "Deep South" such as Alabama, Mississippi, and nearby states.

Northern Virginia is an expanding place. Believe me, many of the houses especially the rich neighborhoods are very new!

(That said, we have *streets* named after Robert E. Lee and Roger Taney!)

Yeah, and that involves pressuring Trump too!

If you hit it big and can't find a good place in France for your opulent house, northern Virginia has lots of them! #NotAloneTalk

Just...anyone who wants to, feel free to message me if you want to talk. If I don't already follow you, post asking me to follow you so you can message me.

I'm quite busy with a full time job and two kids, but I'm available weekend afternoons and evenings UK/Europe time.

I specified the Virginia part for a reason. In the US South -- northern Virginia is kind of on the edge -- and Midwest, violent weather patterns like tornadoes and such happen more often. Including hailstorms.

Office move finally completed; we moved in Monday 30 March. Garage right under the property. I got all my boxes moved in on time to my cubicle; some weren't so lucky. I managed to score an extra file cabinet for all my files.

And I got a window cubicle (distributed by seniority).

Oh dear!

That happens with us very occasionally (northern Virginia, near Washington, DC). I've seen masses of marble-sized hailstones on the ground.

It's OK I guess. IMHO not worth the chaos and lots of extra work of having to move.

Our old office -- just two or three blocks away -- is being replaced by...a data center. Which I understand will make it warmer/hotter all around including at our new office.
