If you want to try the latest development version, there already is a tool for that implemented.

A screenshot of FreeCAD showing my "Tom's WIDE Pill Case" project. On the left, you can see a VarSet with many variables that drive the design of the models.
I ported my #PublicDomain WIDE Pill Case to #FreeCAD. You can get it here: www.printables.com/model/149421...
This port was a bit more challenging since it uses a lot more object references/patterns. With this port, I've decided to move to FreeCAD for all my future projects.
Thanks FreeCAD ❤️ !

I used #FreeCAD to design the cover and spacer for my electric guitar’s 3-way switch. If this switch is directly installed on the guard plate, the exposed part of the selector handle will be too short. Using a 1-millimeter aluminum alloy cover with a spacer is very suitable.
Two pictures, spliced together side by side. In the left one, I'm holding a light grey, 3D printed collar with a conical top to allow the screw to sit down in it (as shown in the picture on the right). In the right picture, the sharp end of the screw protrudes from the base of the collar.
The face plate for the piece I'm building is going to be attached to the wooden frame behind it. The acrylic isn't thick enough to allow for countersunk holes, so I designed "collars" that are conical to allow the screw to sit down in them. This is version 3.

Turns out FreeCAD literally is rocket science. The Rocket Workbench + CfdOF are being used to analyse rocket stability and drag with CFD. Read the story:

This is on my list of tutorials to do! I did the bike frame a couple of weeks ago. Love the animation and exploded view!
Something simple today, a friend needed something to wrap her embroidery thread around that fit's the dimensions of the storage box 🪡
It looks great 😃👍🏻
Happy Friday! What are you designing this week?
Share your FreeCAD projects below, screenshots, renders, videos, anything goes. We love to see what the community is building!

A photograph of two 3D printed pill cases. On the left is the original 70mm model in black PETG. On the right is a larger model, 80mm, printed in white PETG.
I've been working on learning #FreeCAD recently. One of my larger learning projects has been to port some of my OnShape designs to FreeCAD so its easier for people to modify.
I'm happy to report that my pill case now has an associated FreeCAD document: www.printables.com/model/923492...
Two major releases for @kicad.org and FreeCAD in the last weeks. The new versions offer manynnew improvements!

I'll have to take some screen shots of my basic model later today. I was able to get a working handle for my drawing tablet holder, on my adjustable arm. I ordered an aluminum rod and got a perfect version on the second try. I may do another set for the to to better manipulate the screen.
