Don't think it's a strict requirement; though, if your threat model includes the operator itself, that's probably the least of your worries!

I've used a PAYG SIM for several years to keep things separate - I just send a text every so often to keep it active, works nicely.

Back from the Scottish Highlands! What an incredible time, I've done loads of things I never expected to do!

Reindeer feeding, quad biking, Ziplining and having the privilege to do it with some wonderful people.
