Mrs. Georgia Hyland, the mother of these troublesome trio. She had quite the adventurous spirit growing up. Though, people kept saying she had a baby face which annoyed her to no end. Georgia was originally made by @toastyraincloud.bsky.social but modified by myself.

Honestly I do think if it was both parents getting a say/giving away the daughter, I do think I’d be happier. I’m just happy to see a mother get to have some say because I’m just so used to people only going to the father. That could just also be me being a mama’s boy lol

Oh yeah no I totally know it was, sadly, I just kinda wish we didn’t keep that tradition because of the connotation. Kinda like I wish we’d stop normalizing to “ask the fathers permission for the daughters hand”, like bro it doesn’t concern him 😭

Sadly that’s completely true. It just upsets me that we’re still normalizing that I guess. I understand “tradition” and all but it comes off scummy to me, personally. Then again, I don’t think AFABs could even get a bank account without a man’s permission until like the 70s. People are so weird 😭

I never even thought about both parents doing that- it being just a man/the father is so normalized out here. I don’t really want anyone to “give me away”, if I’m being honest, but I do appreciate both parents being involved in it at least rather than just the father.

Sorry to chime in to yalls conversation randomly but I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks the whole “dad giving away their daughter” thing is weird. I can’t help but take it as the daughter being treated as more of a possession and it pisses me off. I’d be so mad at my wedding 😭
