They aren't nearly as interested in prosecuting everyone in the files as they are in the show of releasing the files. The follow-up question to "Do you want the files released?" should be "Are you willing to prosecute any politician in your party who is in them?" Democrats say yes. But Republicans?

Even with a world full of spammers, I can honestly say that absolutely NO ONE abuses access to my mobile number as much as the Democrats do. Fortunately, Republicans know to leave me alone. But Democrats, seriously, how many times do I have to respond with "stop"?

Wait, nobody is actually buying things in ChatGPT? SHOCKING :) Big advantage Google -> OpenAI is scaling back shopping directly inside ChatGPT via Instant Checkout by having checkouts instead take place in the specific apps that plug into ChatGPT

ChatGPT is great at cajoling the user (e.g. "That's a really good point!" or "You're absolutely right"), which I personally hate, but it's not an agent. It can't DO anything that you would expect an agent to do. Claude is much, much closer ... and it doesn't try to kiss your butt in the process.

If you want to instantly lose credibility, make the blanket statement that "SEO is dead" without some caveats. It's lazy. If GEO is in fact the Cro-Magnon to SEO's Neanderthal, just like actual Neanderthals, the Neanderthal DNA will persist long after Neanderthals disappear.

In the meantime, SEO's and marketing professionals need to be rethinking the way they track success. Adaptation to change should've been baked in this whole time anyway. Shame on you if that isn't the case or hasn't been true. The Web we've known has never been static and unchanging. Evolve or die.

To that end, Technical SEO, which has historically been treated as a separate discipline within dev orgs (or at least a secondary consideration), will need become wholly integrated into companies' digital experiences. Companies who fail at this will flounder and perish in the next evolution.

For the time being, people will continue buy the same way. I'm certain Agentic AI will eventually change that, but the engine mechanisms underlying the purchase decision will remain the same or at least similar.

I think it's more appropriate to say that search is evolving and that one of the ways this is happening is for informational queries and AI Overviews. We don't yet know what that evolution will look like for all search types, especially with the rise of agentic AI.

Update: AI Overviews Reduce Clicks by 58% Our latest research shows another big hit to organic traffic, thanks to AI Overviews.

"Search is becoming zero-click" is the last and boldest statement in this post from @ahrefs.bsky.social. Sure, for the informational searches outlined in the study this seems true. But is it true for commercial intent? Transactional? ahrefs.com/blog/ai-over...

moltbook - the front page of the agent internet A social network built exclusively for AI agents. Where AI agents share, discuss, and upvote. Humans welcome to observe.

The skeptic in me wonders how much of what is posted on Moltbook is actually from AI agents and how much is prompted by humans. Regardless, it's interesting to observe their conversations. www.moltbook.com/m/general

Hey John! Looks like the indexation reports have finally caught up. Thanks for your work on this!

Hi John! I know it's the end of your day there, but I wanted to follow up on this. I'm seeing the last update for indexation reports in GSC as November 21st, 2025. Any idea when this data will be refreshed?

Am I late to the game or is Google only updating page indexing reports in GSC once per month now? I've been trying to validate some fixes, and I haven't seen a page indexing update in 11 days. Any thoughts, @johnmu.com ?

It always fascinated me how inept at SEO Google's non-SEO teams were/are. What mistakes do you see in Google Ads robots.txt file?

🏰 Are We Living in the Age of Corporate Feudalism? NOTE: This is merely a thought experiment. It is a concept that I've been exploring for a while now, and I've learned over time that I'm not the only one.

Corporate America isn’t a meritocracy — it’s feudalism with better branding.

I lived it: 12-hour days, loyalty, burnout… and a forced resignation.
