This is the time of year (WGI) when people of a certain age once again pull out the one or two photos they have of themselves marching, while people of a younger generation struggle with which of the thousands of professionally edited and curated action shots to use.

Three guards in a row I have said “where my dancers at?” And, of course, said it in a Patti Labelle “where my backup singers at?” tone. Not one student knew of this important cultural event.
