Worth repeating today:
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
I'm sure Alito is fuming about the Virginia vote and itching to strike down the rest of the Voting Rights Act as petty revenge.
But Democrats are likely retaking the House, maybe the Senate, no matter what SCOTUS does now.
Killing the VRA would just be a final insult that speeds court reform.
GOP - *gerrymanders*
DEMS - hey stop that no fair
GOP - *gerrymanders even more*
DEMS - we mean it we’re gonna sue
SCOTUS - *legalizes gerrymandering completely*
DEMS - *start gerrymandering*
GOP - HEY STOP THAT NO FAIR!!!! 😭

STATEMENT: VIRGINIANS VOTE YES, RESHAPE THE FIGHT FOR THE U.S. HOUSE Richmond, Va. — Virginians for Fair Elections Campaign Manager Kéren Charles Dongo released the following statement after voters approved the redistricting referendum: "Tonight, Virginia voters chose to fight back against Trump's effort to rig congressional maps ahead of the 2026 midterms. In a special election with a single question and no statewide candidates on the ballot, millions of Virginians showed up — at levels that rival a general election — to defend fair representation. That is a remarkable statement about what was at stake. The impact is immediate. The new maps, passed by the General Assembly and signed by Governor Spanberger, will now be in effect. At a moment when Donald Trump directed Republican legislatures across the country to redraw their maps to lock in a House majority before voters had their say, Virginia just changed the battlefield. The path to retaking the U.S. House of Representatives is fundamentally different tonight because Virginians chose to act. This campaign was built in just five months — overcoming nearly $40 million spent on spreading MAGA lies and misinformation to confuse voters, navigating unprecedented legal challenges to stop Virginians from having a say, and asking voters to grapple with a complex issue for our democracy. But in the end, voters cut through the noise, made their voices heard, and voted YES. We are deeply grateful to every Virginian who voted, volunteered, donated, and stood up in this moment. Tonight belongs to them."

DCCC Chair Statement on Passage of Virginia Redistricting Referendum Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement after Virginians voted to pass the redistricting referendum in response to Donald Trump and House Republicans’ unprecedented mid-decade gerrymandering scheme: “Tonight’s result is a victory for every American who wants fair representation in Congress, a massive rebuke of Donald Trump and Republicans’ efforts to rig the midterm elections, and a rejection of their cruel, cost-spiking, and corrupt agenda that is hurting hardworking families. The DCCC has always said that the public, when given the opportunity, will hold Republicans accountable for their attack against fair representation in Congress, and tonight Virginia voters did exactly that. “House Republicans know they can’t win on the issues, which is why they tried to stack the deck through their corrupt gerrymandering scheme in states like Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and now Florida. Virginia voters turned out to fight back against their cynical ploy and to send a message that Republicans won’t be able to cheat their way into holding onto power. “As voters continue to sour on the reckless Republican agenda in Washington, it has never been clearer that Democrats are on offense in every corner of the country. Virginia will play a central role in our path back to the House majority, and we are well-positioned to flip seats throughout the Commonwealth in November.”

If the Union had HANGED all the traitorous KKKonfederates back then, we wouldn't've had the KKK, or any of Trump's bullshit & crimes...
BREAKING: The YES vote will WIN Virginia’s redistricting referendum, allowing Democrats to redraw maps ahead of the midterms and potentially flip the state from 6–5 to 10–1 — a four-seat swing that could decide control of Congress.

Trump called Cook “Tim Apple” and shared the first call he received from his fellow billionaire during his first term.
WaPo article about Tim Cook giving Trump a gold phone in exchange for various jobs promises
This is how I’ll remember Tim Cook. Sucking up to Trump with his gold iPhone.
Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.
He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).
Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.
And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.
Remember this.
And this is how the World will remember Tim Cook - as an "ass-kisser", because that is the legacy he's EARNED by kow-towing to #TraitorTrump.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump I have always been a big fan of Tim Cook, and likewise, Steve Jobs, but if Steve was not taken from the Planet Earth so young, and ran the company instead of Tim, the company would have done well, but nowhere near as well as it has under Tim. For me it began with a phone call from Tim at the beginning of my First Term. He had a fairly large problem that only I, as President, could fix. Most people would have paid millions of dollars to a consultant, who I probably would not have known, but who would say that he knew me well. The fees would be paid but the job would not have gotten done. When I got the call I said, wow, it’s Tim Apple (Cook!) calling, how big is that? I was very impressed with myself to have the head of Apple calling to “kiss my ass.” Anyway, he explained his problem, a tough one it was, I felt he was right and got it taken care of, quickly and effectively. That was the beginning of a long and very nice relationship. During my five years as President, Tim would call me, but never too much, and I would help him where I could. Years latter, after 3 or 4 BIG HELPS, I started to say to people, anyone who would listen, that this guy is an amazing manager and leader. He makes these calls to me, I help him out (but not always, because he will, on occasion, be too aggressive in his ask!), and he gets the job done, QUICKLY, without a dime being given to those very expensive (millions of dollars!) consultants around town who sometimes get it done, and sometimes don’t. Anyway, Tim Cook had an AMAZING career, almost incomparable, and will go on and continue to do great work for Apple, and whatever else he chooses to work on. Quite simply, Tim Cook is an incredible guy!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP 2.16k ReTruths 12.4k Likes Apr 21, 2026, 5:42 AM
Here's Trump encouraging business execs to "kiss my ass" in order to get special favors from his government. He doesn't even bother trying to hide the rampant corruption.
As a Catholic, it blows my mind that any Catholic voted for Trump who has broken 9/10 commandments!
Hopefully, the 36% who decided NOT to show up for America when she needed them the very most will choose America over their personal grievances.
I remember the Vietnam War well. Trump should too — we're the same age.
I was too short to serve and lost good friends in the war. Trump pretended to have bone spurs.
That war was characterized by lies, arrogance, and stupidity.
What's happening in Iran is starting to feel a lot like Vietnam.
