Subject Knowledge: Our Greatest Treasure My reasoning for writing this blog is to champion the cause and case of subject knowledge. Some will question why. Some will cite but that’s so obvious isn’t it or shout out but of course subject k…

An excellent read and I completely agree. With strong subject knowledge teacher explanation, modelling and questioning is so much more effective. They teach the right stuff in the right order in a way children can understand.

Open, honest and regular communication. I could tell my previous Chair any thing and he was always a great listener. Always felt in it together

I’ve become a real convert in terms of using high quality schemes written by experts. Using Snap Science since September has really transformed our curriculum and teaching. Really supportive of workload for teachers and the subject lead. Children now love Science.

Used Comparative Judgement in my current school for the first time in staff meeting today and the discussions were great-really focused and showed their knowledge. I really believe in the power of the CJ process. The staff are amazing

This week has definitely been about technology for me. After successes with AI I then discovered the use of planner on Microsoft 365. Read about it on here and been creating ‘Buckets’ all week. Want to now use it across my team. Love it 😊

Potential in terms of impacting on workload but more importantly quality. There is a great tool to evaluate a document. I put in my Governors report and the feedback was precise. Gave me some excellent recommendations to add to it and then tweaked some of my sentences. 2/2

After only a small about of time inputting school info into SLTai I got out high quality relevant action plans, behaviour support plans linked to my policy,a Governor’s action plan, an extract for a newsletter etc. really impressed+ I can see the huge potential going forward 1/2

My mind is BLOWN! Just purchased SLTai and I am absolutely stunned at what it can produce.I am about 7 years off retirement as a Headteacher but decided that I need to be up to date on Ai as it will move so quickly. The potential of SLTai is vast-I am absolutely thrilled to be starting this journey!

Had a great day working with some fab teachers co delivering Instructional Coaching training. Drew on Jim Knight and Tom Sherrington’s work. I’ve missed doing this kind of work and supporting development of leaders.

Just posted new blog on Bluesky and not (yet) on Twitter. Be interesting to see engagement. Will I fold and put it on Twitter too? Please help me avoid the temptation by reposting here!

Couldn’t agree more with this thread. It’s our duty to be there for our communities: children, staff and families. A good timely reminder 👍🏻
