One more Dadbert and Baby Mitya before bed ( WIP ) #FE3H 🛌✨

Dimitri just allowing himself the tears, the agony and pain that had settled in his heart -- he finally let's it all out.

And it all happened on a rare and warm day in Faerghus.

The smell of bergamot and pine -- his father's cologne, just a hint of it lingered on the fabric.

And the grief became a tidal wave. Dedue would find Dimitri clutching the cloak tightly as tears streamed down his face and he would say " He's gone Dedue...he's gone."

Grief is such a strange force of nature, like the sea and tide itself and it finally comes crashing down when Dimitri stumbled upon one of Lambert's old cloaks. The blue of it still the same, the fur a little unkempt due to being stored away and when Dimitri brings it to face level--

A laugh from Sylvain brings forth the sound of own Lambert's laughter that he thought he long had forgotten- Mercedes' nurturing brings his father's gentleness -- sparring with Felix , Annette’s determination, Ashe's smile, even Ingrid's insatiable appetite.

The waves just keep getting bigger.

They say loved one can trigger memories, moments that you suddenly recall in that one moment.

A hug from Dedue suddenly brings forth the familiar sensation of being embraced by his father -- encompassing, warm, loving. A wave against the shore of Dimitri’s consciousness.

So the grief was left to linger, not quite fester, but something akin to the tide. Rising and falling but never truly breaching within his mind.

It's not until after everything more or less settled, the war won, his people saved -- that the tide of grief was steadily rising within him.

Dimitri finally being able to grieve his father 🚬

Circumstances after Lambert's death didn't allow for Dimitri to have that time to really allow that grief to settle. Because he had revenge on his mind, people wanted him dead, he was on survivor mode 24/7

His excited little "Father! Father!" Greeting Lambert as he holds up the flower to him and Lambert smiling warmly and kneeling down to pull his equally precious son into a hug while chuckling and asking "Is this for me? Thank you, Mitya!", also holding onto the flower just as delicately 🥺🥺🥺🥺

You bet that baby carried that flower with such care despite his excited little rush to bring it to Lambert!! 😭 kinda wanna write a lil drabble about that, it's such a sweet idea oough

I missed drawing them too 🥺🥺💖💖 it makes me happy to see other people missed them just as much!
