and hopefully those doing the enforcement will know which ones are speed limited and which ones aren't. Where I am, our police have pretty much said "we don't enforce traffic laws", so I am not hugely in favor of enforcement and more on the side of infrastructure, but in this case... that's hard.

Maybe this is the way. I don't see this problem with motor-bikes or dirt-bikes. How do we deal with that? Is it just that people are decent and don't do stupid things with those? But some how haven't got the message with e-motos? Or does this happen with motor-bikes and we just don't talk about it?
I can image some situations where 50km/h+ is OK on a road with other vehicles going that speed, but other's like a MUP where it really isn't. Unlike with larger fast vehicles, things like bollards don't really work to block access to e-motos but then let ecargo bikes through. This is a tough problem
My first thought is, my ebike is limited to 30km/h and that's plenty just add speed limiters. But after a few moments more thought, hmm.. it trickier than that. This is tough.

However, with current US policy we have a chance to catch up if we don't follow them. I am not looking at absolute emissions but rather how fast the curve is going down.
I often listen to podcasts from the US and think, same here. Especially with regards to urban things. But often we are doing better in this regard. However, there are also things we are doing worse at. For example, the US's emissions have decreased below 1990 levels, while Canada's have not.
We are a petrostate. The O&G industry has way to much influence on our government sadly and it is clearly showing.
Yeah, over and over this is the picture I am getting. For certain things, under certain conditions, they are useful/helpful. But for most things in general, still have a long long way to go. Or in other words.. cool by WAAAY over hyped is my take away. Very much the same as with self driving cars.
yeah sure. I was just going with, this at least has got to be creative. But would certainly agree also that how you write/solve various problems also involve creativity.
I mean.. figuring out what you want to create by writing a computer program has got to be creative.
that is a nice one
And when you get a new bigger bookshelf you will get more books using cause there is more space for them.
Here is an example. I shout a bit cause I am freaked out by two dangerous drivers in a row one right after the other. Before I can recover from being freaked out by one, another one scares the crap out of me from behind.
Do I need to take responsibility for other people's driving habits who can kill me? I try cause I don't want to die.. but you can only be so defensive. There is a lot to watch and pay attention to... at some point I will miss someone doing something stupid.
Happens all the time. I go through there daily for the school run. Every other time I am there it happens.
I see that regularly at almon and Connaught. I watch for cars to stop rather than the ligt to change.
I totally feel powerless. How the hell can we get people to stop burning FF. How can we keep our politicians from continuing to make bad decisions that are screwing our future. But I got an ecargo bike instead of an f150 so ...

Yeah, I found it really helped to answer my question of.. why aren't we doing what's needed. Like this is a well known scientifically proven with nearly complete consensus, but yet, we are just ignoring it? It made no sense. This really helped me to see why weren't acting.
The FF industry efforts included things like, ensuring text books in schools included FF propaganda. I found drilled really eye opening and really helped me understand why this is so hard and such a mess.
They have for decades and still are spending a lot of money to convince people it's ok and for the greater good. I wondered this exact thing myself. It made no sense at all. Then I listened to the drilled podcast which outlines a decades long effort to do just that. drilled.media/podcasts/dri...
As someone who has lived in NS since I was little, the seasons have changed a lot here too.
Spelling mistakes aside, I think the idea of signs to help cyclist figure out where to go in our disconnected, incomplete, none obvious bike infrastructure is a good thing. I am little surprised there is a sign at all.
Seems to me that this just means Trish isn't intentionally disrespectful of others opinions even if she doesn't agree with them. She is probably trying to be a good councilor even though she doesn't understand the actual problem and solutions.
The worst part of any walk is the cars. Got hit by a bike, a few bumps and bruise, if your really unlucky, maybe a broke bone. Hit by a car, you will be lucky to come away with your life.
The Houston government doesn’t take climate change seriously

My initial phone call, went to voice mail. I did get a call back, not form the environment minister, but from someone in their office and had a long good chat and they encouraged me to email. I did, nothing back.
I wrote an email, and called, NS environment minister some time ago and told them basically this.
Maybe the cheapest way to implement is stop patching potholes. Those will slow people down for free.
My son and I have watched a few videos from this guy's youtube channel. We were mostly interested in watching chain saw and tractor stuff completely unrelated to urbanism. But this video is titled "Reconsider Remote Living - Roads & Driveways Are SOOO EXPENSIVE"
