Lakey Peak, Sumbawa. Place took a fierce hit over COVID and locals were left to fend for themselves. Some people left, some of the accommodation shut down, while others thrived. We stayed at Vivianes and ate at Fatmas. So we were sorted. It’s a long haul to get there but well worth it #lakeypeak

Quite exciting for a 14-year-old to arrive at Uluwatu in Bali for the first time, experience the thrill of a foreign culture, the agony and ecstasy of lost and found luggage (boards) and then the fear and excitement of bombing Racetracks in boardies. We had a pretty good trip, we did. #surfordie

It was quite a thing to get my 11-year-old daughter down the stairs and through the Cave and outside to Racetracks. Then to help her get a few waves from the madding crowd. She did exceptionally well, she did. I was strung out, and needed a beer afterwards. It was before 8 am but don’t judge me

Took a little while to get there, but once through Bima and eventually at Huu we could surf our days away. My 14-year-old travel partner, screw-foot son wasted no time in getting out there to hit the lefts #lakeypeak #sumbawa #surfindonesia

Total legend. The biggest problem was staying awake till 9pm to watch him. And with 12 minutes to go we got pushed out the game and had to watch it on a YouTube stream. Still it was pretty insane.

Time for a return trip to the Nias area. It gets pretty crowded these days but the occasional runner slips through with no takers. Hard to get there these days, but daily flights and overnight ferries are still operating. The ferry ride is challenging
