big part of why the right insists everyone on the left is a paid agitator is because they themselves constantly put over paid agitators

“Two can play at that game” is literally the Drebin quote here when he takes an innocent woman hostage to cluelessly fight the enemy
A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.
For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.
One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.
a screenshot of the "New Bestsellers" list from Substack, with Andrew Tate in the #1 position
Hey, look at Substack promoting Andrew Tate as the #1 new bestseller. The company's amoral leadership & backers will platform anyone, even ludicrously toxic rapists & human traffickers.
The breathtaking corruption of the edtech industrial complex on full display here. And a timely article with ASU+GSV kicking off today.
“In other words, school districts are spending billions on unproven technology products while pleading poverty at the bargaining table."

Minister Vijlbrief gaat hard bezuinigen op werknemersrechten.
De WW en de WIA worden afgebroken. Er wordt jaarlijks veel meer premie betaald dan dat er aan uitkeringen uitgaat en de premie gaat omhoog.
Huh?

I'm kind of fascinated by that big Lauren Sanchez Bezos feature in the Times. There's just nothing going on there at all, no insight or conflict or notable color, so the hook is just "this unfathomably rich but otherwise fatuous person enjoys their lifestyle a great deal." Fantastic stuff.
Guess how many times this Spiked piece - which blames Orban’s loss on ‘identity politics’ and ‘therapy culture’ - mentions that Furedi is literally working for Orban?

Kick-Off Trilogue @inta.europarl.europa.eu on implementation of EU-US Deal with @cy2026eu.bsky.social
@marossefcovic.bsky.social. My message: EP wants to adress shortcomings with multi-layered safety net, clear conditions, enforcement tools&possibility to suspend the deal if US fails to comply!
Hungary's government will drop its opposition to the EU's €90 billion loan to Ukraine, incoming Prime Minister Péter Magyar signaled, bringing a four-month standoff to an end.
Journalism treats elections like magic cleansing agents for democracy. That simple-yet-attractive story ignores that corrosive agents still eat away at democracy, even after these supposedly "sanitizing" elections. Journalism's job is to monitor that corrosion. No slate has been wiped clean.

Onbestaanbaar!

Tweet from Elon Musk: “Soros Organization has taken over Hungary”
Sure hope the ADL is feeling good about going out of their way to defend this guy against charges of antisemitism.
Terrible take from the NYT: “Orban’s defeat is a setback for the global nationalist revival promoted by President Trump.”
Is that what we’re calling Fascism these days? (Also, it started with Putin.)
i will vote for any candidate who offers up this slogan
if it were 10 years ago this would be a wall to wall story. but the media is afraid of him. and his friends in the white house.
ROMEO, BAKER M. @BakerMikeRomeo • 2h why would the pope care about your book Rod Dreher @roddreher • 1h Because it was widely denounced by Antonio Spadaro, SJ, and others as "anti-Francis" (which it's not, but that was the line in Civilta Cattolica, which Francis reads and has to approve before publication). And Francis's people called around Italy before my book tour asking... ROMEO, BAKER M. @BakerMikeRomeo Replying to @roddreher ok so here's the thing: he's the pope, right and you're explaining to a cartoon rabbit on the internet why you're important enough that the pope should know who you are
Since we’re all making fun of Rod Dreher, I think about this at least once a week
Certain writers (*cough* NYT Opinion *cough*) overread the durability of illiberal nationalism and scoffed at pro-democracy appeals, but they only listened to each other, never allowing alternate opinions into their elite bubble. That left them unable to grasp everything from Hungary to Minneapolis.
I did appreciate the Russian doll with Orbán on the outside and Putin inside at the Tisza party 😀
Again, the authoritarianism extremism of the American Republican Party far exceeds that of...Viktor Orban & Fidesz, who just immediately conceded an election without any of the shenanigans, coups, nonstop lies about nonexistent voter fraud, or endless litigation of the GOP after every US election.
These accounts sound perilously like "Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz and, in retaliation, Trump blocked the Strait of Hormuz."
Hallo Progressief Nederland!!! Campagnevoeren 24/7... wanneer worden jullie wakker....
Can never get over how tawdry the modern Right's view of Western Civilization is; nothing to build, nothing to aspire to, nothing even really to destroy or wage war against, just sullen resentment of their own children and seething hatred of the cities whose economics subsidies their regimes.
💥🇭🇺With 95% of votes counted, Hungary’s map shows the opposition Tisza party crushing Fidesz 94–12 in constituencies. Péter Magyar has secured a 2/3 majority, asked President Tamás Sulyok and other Orbán loyalists to resign immediately, and announced his first visit to Warsaw.
Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.
Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.
He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.
The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.
People in the Budapest Metro, Hungary, shouting: “Russians, go home!”
