I'm not sure which is worse between whether these people have put any thought into the implications of what they're doing or that they have thought about it and know exactly what they're doing

Okay the movie about blocked trade routes and a decrepit old creep who seized power and became a dictator was better than we initially gave it credit for. Sorry George Lucas.

“It’s too soon to know exactly how AI will affect our work. Rather than make promises we can’t responsibly keep, we are exploring how these technologies can create more space for investigative reporting and thinking deeply and creatively, not less,” [Director of Communications] Stephens said.

The US military has 22 sites in the UK.

Every day long range US bombers are taking off here to drop bombs on Iran.

This is a rogue state carrying out war crimes, and threatening more.

The UK Government must grow a spine - and stop our bases being used for this war.

Thinking about what the US was doing in Vietnam and Cambodia during the last series of missions to the moon. Or that the whole space program was developed as a PR campaign for developing ICBM technology.

2 weeks ago 2 0 0 0

Also the fact that the entire US space program was designed as a loin-cloth for the development of ICBM technology and to give some legitimacy for building the machine that will kill all human life if it's ever used. So I guess it's all come full circle.

In Figure 13 below: a) Best energy efficiency; b) best user preference; c) best visual quality; d) e) closest to ideal point; f) optimal solution.
Figure 13 showing six different cartographic styling variations of the same urban area map. Each panel a) through f) displays an identical street network with yellow/orange/brown road lines overlaying land parcels in various colors including green spaces (parks), blue water bodies, and urban blocks in pink, purple, cyan, and other hues. Panel a) features a dark teal/navy background with bright contrasting colors. Panel b) shows an olive/brown background with softer tones. Panel c) has a light beige/cream background with pastel colors. Panels d), e), and f) all use black backgrounds with progressively different color palettes: d) uses yellow streets with bright multi-colored parcels, e) employs pink/magenta streets with rainbow-hued parcels, and f) features green streets with a cyan-green-red color scheme. The maps demonstrate different approaches to urban cartographic design and color theory while maintaining the same geographic information.

Google Just Patented The End Of Your Website A newly granted Google patent could let the search giant replace your brand's landing page with an AI-generated version you have no control over and only your buyers see.

When will all these AI boosters in the tech industry wake up and realise they're feeding the beast that wants to eat them? Do you think they'll stop with websites? Why do you think Google is locking down its app environment with developer registrations?

Unpopular opinion but I think off-lead dogs should be banned unless in a dog park or at home behind a fence. Had this guy who would let his dogs run around the park and pick fights while he looked at his phone, absolute worst. Had to boot his dog after it latched on to Bruce's neck.
