It's been interesting to see these different approaches emerge! I've also been wondering if there's a missing layer around the ways that embeds are defined and the social context being hydrated when records are embedded.

A big first step towards making the Atmosphere more legible, now we can tag and link it! I appreciate the work that has gone into this from @bmann.ca and @brittanyellich.com (and anyone else behind the scene)

the entire concept of trying to make the technical side of the atmosphere invisible to people has always felt condescending to me yup. it's condescending in basically the same way as throwing a lot of technical jargon and expecting immediate understanding

there isn't much to update atm! I'm still getting a feel for what this space looks like, what affordances atproto provides, how that align/differ with graphql, etc.

There is also definitely some overlap with lexicon embeds though!

Or can it convert a semble collection into a leaflet document? Which has multiple records you might want to stitch together before lensing (i.e. collection -> collectionLink -> card -> note)

I forgot to ask this at the conf, but it's still not clear to me if panproto can handle a 1-to-N and N-to-1 translation of records?

For example, can a panproto lens convert a thread of bluesky posts into a leaflet document and visa versa?
