They're discussing whether the three-day week and industrial unrest will affect the price and availability of hash.
Bathtub sulphate, I blame the bikers! As it happens 5.15 was the Saturday morning track played loud to rouse hungover students in one of my shared houses.
Bloody hell, haven't thought about Esther and Abi Ofarim for years!
As someone who used to advise on suitable UK science courses for overseas students, it's a big thumbs-up from me.
What is this (American?) obsession with preparing food that you need to dislocate your jaw to eat?
Murder on the Oriole Express.
Dunno, but I've always loved his guitar playing on A Small Fruit Song.
Coming from a Yorkshire mining family I heartily approve of this message. South Elmsall, where my grandparents grew up, held a celebratory party when the news broke. Daily Mail/Telegraph disgusted, of course.
He'd be a shoe-in as the male equivalent of Florence Foster Jenkins (minus the generosity). Stage name: Flaccido Demented.
If you’re gonna cover a Portishead track, this is how you do it

You can walk by it but it's a working farm I think. Here's some photos I took a few years ago.
Getting a dab on is a consequence of being mafted, of course.
Bag for life, of course.
One of the male BBC Look North newsreaders does this at the end of the programme. Disconcerting.
Soundtrack provided by a couple of pink oboes and a horn section.
He must be drawn to musicians. It tickled me that in Mcr he shared a house with one of the Albertos (not CP Lee), went down to Imperial to do a Master's and, would you believe it, his supervisor was Brian May!
A former colleague and friend was the British Council Director in Cuba at the time and had some involvement in organising this as part of the BC's cultural exchange work.
Just read your bio and being from Ponte myself I think I'll have to get this! My mother was from Monkhill. Was your nanna Monkhill Avenue or Drive? Mine lived in Waterloo Avenue which had a reputation but, as a nipper, you're blissfully unaware, aren't you?
Many, many years ago I chose winemaking as my Duke of Edinburgh award activity. Fortunately the teachers couldn't think of a valid reason to say 'no'. I made a gallon of date and raisin wine and it was actually quite drinkable - sherry-like.
My home town. So proud!
So the question is, in a parody Italian accent: Is thissa bona hissa?
I'll get me coat.
Yep, That's the Way, Bring It on Home.
It's a lovely thing you do, Ian, as I've said in previous years. So a mention again please for my mother, Kathleen Walters, and my mother-in-law, Maria Italia Stefanelli.

Great thread
Take Me to the Reiver.
Nice cat. Discussing Italian-American crooners with my wife last night (as you do), I googled Al Martino and discovered that his real name was Jasper Cini - anglicised from Gasparino. And Mario Lanza was a family friend. Every day is a school day. A fondness for cats was not divulged...
Made the mistake of saying York and Lancs once and was given a stern lecture that it was always Lancaster and NEVER shortened to Lancs!
