(i'm not saying i think less of anyone who likes the film btw!!! i just like being pedantic and criticising things hehe)

i just think that taking the name of a book as historically important as wuthering heights and turning it into outrage bait is weird, you could change all the characters' names and it'd be a fine movie but its pretending to be something it isn't and that doesn't sit right with me yknow

WHOOPS man i dont even know how i fucked up my thought so bad >.> i meant that the original book was pure love turning into abuse through misunderstanding and mental illness while the film is trying needlessly hard to be provocative through overly sexual content

true, i just think they could have taken a more respectful approach to adapting the book. it obviously doesn't have to follow the book to a t, but removing it's themes in favor of flashy modern dresses and pure of heart romance is a little insulting to emily brontë's work imo

i think people don't like bc it completely bastardizes the original book. they took away core elements of the story to sanitize it. making Heathcliff white was the dealbreaker for me personally :c im sure its a fine film on it's own but like. just don't call it Wuthering Heights cuz it's not yknow
