thanks Paul! it feels like I'm going over the same thoughts all the time, but hopefully with a bit more clarity... (still taking too long to learn the most obvious things)

in any case, a day with any pictures = ok day
(otherwise it all turns into some fossil fuel-type process for creating layers of burnout)
but the whole "the thing counts, how i feel making it is irrelevant" ethos that we get from freelancing life, and from a general history of bad role models everywhere, is not something to strive towards, or a sustainable way to live. skip all of that and prioritize your own fun (it's allowed)
freehanding five hundred ellipses and mechanical parts reminded me how earlier this year i was having a mysteriously difficult time with some stuff and it took me three full days to realize it was... not fun to draw. apparently at this age i forget to consider that could even be an option
i have been informed it's saturday

(the whole disco elysium doc is very inspiring and recommended)
after seeing the original interview, my goal new in life was to be as cheerful and enthusiastic as this guy, so an extra hour of it is very welcome
(hashtag release the four hour cut)
very much looking forward to downloading the 50-70 MB tiff files when they are back
anyhow, back to pictures
a still from the documentary kin dza-dza! (1986)
though to be fair any available atom of energy goes to pictures first
i know cartoonists (and adhd folks) are bad with time as a general concept, but people went to the actual moon and back in the time it took me to write four emails (eleven more to go)
the entire artemis endeavour is much needed reminder of what cooperation can achieve, but seeing such a beautiful and moving human moment in space like this (crater Caroll) sure is an antidote to the garbage people and their garbage inhuman behavior we're all subjected to every day
more than 400 pages, at least 50 of which are extras-- there's a lot of stuff in there!
there doesn't seem to be anything else going on in the world, so hey, the paperback omnibus comps arrived-- it might be my favorite edition so far because of how bendy it is and the weight being just perfect
same!
apologies about pulling such a dramatic and elaborate prank yesterday, of course the plan was pictures (i did six small ones, in a row).
same plan today (and the next ~15,000-18,000 days)
"a cake is a cake, whether someone lovingly made one just for you, or you found one in a urinal"
wednesday plan: not pictures
ah, i remembered it was for Takahata's Kaguya, but it is from the other doc, the full length one that comes with the movie (about 24 minutes in) --
I don't know if it's my most woke opinion but I think if a company wants to be publicly traded they must have a unionized workforce.
space espadrilles
Oga Kazuo in Kingdom of Dreams and Madness: "I thought there wouldn't be much painting so it would be easy, but I was wrong."
panels like this take longer than busy splash scenes, probably because they end up requiring the same amount of work as animation would, only with a single frame (or two) to do it
hey, this printed great. things usually don't feel finished or right until they're in their final (printed) shape and size-- same situation here
(i will not be providing a list)
