Growing on a rotting log covered with moss, there is a bright green stropharia mushroom. The stem is a lighter green but very shaggy-looking. The cap is covered with white "spikes," and underneath the spikes is a rich green color that is almost teal. It's pretty gorgeous!

Day 83 of posting cool mushrooms:

The Blue-Green Stropharia (Stropharia aeruginosa) can be commonly found growing on mulch in Britain, Asia, Europe, and parts of N. America.

It is one of the VERY few green mushrooms that exist at all, alongside the Parrot ๐Ÿ„.

Growing out of an unknown substrate (dirt maybe?) are two mushrooms. They are pale blue on the cap, and white stemmed. They have little hairs emerging from the cap and the stem. They look extremely minuscule, and the photo looks very zoomed in.

Day 65 of posting cool mushrooms every day:

Mycena subcyanocephala is the current smallest mushroom in the world! It has been spotted a grand total of 12 times.

Fruiting bodies are about 1mm tall. It grows only (as far as we know) in Taiwan's tropical areas.

If you'd like to make some time, we can hop on some kind of video call and I can show you what I've collected over the past few years.

Minolta SRT101, 201 or higher, Pentax K1000 are all solid choices. And of course, the Canon and Nikon equivalents but they are selling for too much right now. Pentax ME is cheap but doesn't have manual exposure (I still like it)

I will look around. Also, I could just send you a free Minolta SRT (probably an SRT100) and lens to play with, if you want. The 101 is a bit better but I don't have an extra 101 at the moment.

Fallen brown leaves on the forest floor surround a stark white mushroom with an interesting, honey-comb like cap. You can see the white stem, and the stem is surrounded by a white netting that seems unnatural emerging from the cap.

Day 26 of posting cool mushrooms every day:

The Veiled Lady (Phallus indusiatus) is well-known throughout many of the world's tropical areas.

In eastern Asia it is a delicacy and thought of as an aphrodisiac. This meant it was usually kept for special occasions.

My phone decided overnight to change its own PIN (I do not know what it is) and change my alarm to something very loud and obnoxious. Which I couldn't turn off, because I don't know the PIN. Very exciting.
